Going to a small venue show and looking for a place to eat, we chose this restaurant because of the decor we saw through the window. So glad we walked in. Each entree was delicious, good selection of wines, and every member of the staff was friendly and accommodating. ( And when was the last time someone actually took your... More

We dine in the city often but usually downtown. Decided to try this place because we are staying in the area and didn't want to venture far. What a disappointment. I really need to just pay attention more to the negative reviews because I feel that they are more reflective of our taste/preferences, etc. We were told when we arrived... More

The European portions allowed us to order few dishes and share between our party of three adults. We liked all of them very much.

Came across the name of this 'must try' restaurant when planning our holiday and was delighted to find it around the corner from Hotel Beacon where we are staying. From the welcome, authentic Italian food and wine and the attentive wait staff this is the real deal. Returning before we leave NYC.

We were looking for a lite dinner before a show at the Beacon Theatre. We just happened onto this place, and luckily they had a small high top available for us (very small place and every other seat was filled - rainy night so no one sitting in their pretty outside). We loved it - we ordered a meat sampler... More

I think this place doesn't get reviewed because everyone want to keep their secret!! Limited seating. Wow, seriously one of the best meals I have had! Will be heading back to NYC this month just to return with my mum!!

We arrived here on our first night and had a marvelous introduction to New York. This is a fantastic intimate space with fabulous food, great service and very classy decor. The small share plates and cured meats allowed us to taste right across the menu, and try some truly superb dishes. Highlights included the Salsiccia, the salumi platter and the... More

Was here once a couple of years ago after an evening visit to Frick Museum with colleagues and liked it. I went there for a late lunch today after another trip to the museum and enjoyed the quiet atmosphere with only the casual chatter by the bartender with a customer who seemed to be a regular to be heard. My... More

I found the salumeria excellent from the "meat" selections to a wonderful salad with scrambled eggs in it to a divine unusual lasagna. The service and the bread (important to carbohydrate lovers) were excellent. A nice setting reminding you of a European cafe. We had a great time. A wonderful selection of Italian wine.

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighbourhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighbourhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
