I came here for lunch and was not impressed. The mashed potatoes were bland and flavorless. The vegetables tasted like they came out of a can. The ice tea was stale and bitter. The stuffed cabbage was also bland with an unpleasant texture.

The cold beet soup (chłodnik) was great, just like the ones in Poland. The stuffed cabbage was alright and the pierogies could've been so much better. Potato pierogies had no taste!!! The waitress also needs some training. We walked into the restaurant and she just...More

We are fond of this place. It's not unusual for NYC, a good ethnic diner, except that it continues in it's East Village location as we lose reasonable, dependable places to eat and get trendy, expensive and pretentious restaurants in their place. Most of which...More

I should start by saying that my husband and daughter love this place and share a meal every time he visits her in NYC. This time the whole family was in town and excited to try their "find". The woman serving us was not very...More

This place has great polish food. Super casual restaurant that looks like a coffee shop with plentiful portions refreshingly well priced and the place is genuine - no chic themes or hipster retro veneer. Go for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or brunch. Sitting in the garden...More

This long-time neighborhood place could be a treasure. Unfortunately, it is run dismally. The Polish food (kielbasi, pierogis) along with American staples is bland but plentiful. Despite an outdoor space and roomy tables, I've stopped going here because the service is terrible (owing largely to...More

Authentic pirogies and kielbasa! Good Polish beer. The garden seating out back is great in good weather. My teens enjoyed the food and the authenticity.

If you want to try polish food, this place is the best in Manhattan! Nice and helpful stuff, great breakfast. Their soups are really, really good. The one thing that they should change is menu (7 pages!)

East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village,
which offers plenty of unique small businesses
catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college
students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the
old-time neighbourhood feel that you can still
experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned
shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of
the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to
