This little sushi place a few steps down from the street was one of my favorite NY finds this year. Great helpful staff with a limited menu of which all That I have sampled has been very good. Don't miss the Toro when it's available. Great for a quick lunch. Always friendly folks.

We sat at the sushi bar and it was a treat. The more we ordered, the more the sushi chef gave us exotic taste portions of fish and creative rolls. The sea urchin was the best I can recall in the US, and was reminiscent of Tokyo standards. The place was crowded, with many Japanese patrons. Unusual location and access... More

My husband chose this after reading reviews and the family all love sushi. We walked from our hotel (Broadway) passed many other sushi restaurants to get to this one. What a find!!! My husband and I had Omakase which is the chef's tasting menu. The kids had sushi and sashimi platters which came with salad & miso soup as a... More

A small basement level place, which is not so easy to find. Still you'd better reserve a table in advance. This restaurant is really popular. I was alone so I sat at the bar and ordered Omakase - a chief's special set when sushi are served one by one. Chef told me a lot about the fish, how each sushi... More

It might be the best sushi I have ever had. My basis for comparison ranges from eating at many sushi places in Japan, LA, and SF to working at sea in North Pacific for over ten years with Japanese wholesale buyers for Japanese fish markets. Sit at the bar if you can. The chef's choice omakase is a must.

All I can say is wow! Some of the best sushi we have ever had! When we entered the tiny restaurant, all the tables but one were filled with Japanese people. Turns out they keep a reserved sign on a table to vet the clients. They explain that you have to spend $25 per person (no problem for us) and... More

Although on the pricier side, Sushi You is an amazing little place hidden away from the streets of New York. It's small and cosy with extremely friendly and attentive staff. We ordered the 4 course meal each! It was quite good. If you like a bit of sweetness and something with a kick to it, order the plum wine for... More

Omakase here is just to die for. I had the time of my life enjoying the $90 omakase,it was a mixed of sushi and sashimi. I was first served the sashimi on a wooden piece of drift wood. Beautifully arranged. The highlight was the monk fish liver and generous slices of raw fish. The next course was the different sushi served... More

This is my go to sushi place in Midtown East. The omakase is outstanding! Reserve a seat at the small sushi bar and marvel at the chef/owner's speed and agility in getting all the food out. For the sushi omakase, he makes and gives you one piece at a time to devour. Each piece is a work of art and... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
