They order for you and tell you how to eat it and in what order and it is so delicious. Down side it's very expensive!!! But worth it probably...

Unpretentious venue serving the most impressive sushi. No menus, no pricing. Just eat every morsel the chef sends to your table in small plates of one to four bites. Not for the budget-minded, but worth the price. You don't go here for the ambience, but for some of the freshest and most skillfully prepared sushi you will find in the... More

This is my second time here in this rather unassuming location. First and foremost the food was out of this world!!! But when you pay $150 plus for a few pieces of fish, you would expect a little better atmosphere, and service. The service was basically non-existent and the restaurant looks like a cheap burger joint. The chef walked out... More

There are three Sasabunes in the US, including the original in LA. Stellar chefs, after many years of service, are permitted to use the Sasabune seal to start their own restaurants. Sasabune can be sublime, especially if Takahashi-san is working his magic behind the counter. I've been here perhaps ten times and only had a bad meal once. The sourcing... More

Great food, great service. Each plate was ready when we were done with the previous one. No one rushed us along. Great flavors, variety. It's a very small place. Clean, nicely done, not fancy.

Friends of mine have been telling me about this place for a year and it was worth the wait. It is simply the best sushi anywhere. Expensive? Yes. Worth it? If you like sushi you will never want to eat sushi anywhere else again. It really is that good. The sushi literally melts in your mouth. You can order rolls... More

They have a slogan: Trust me. You can. Sasabune was our first stop in our recent trip to NYC. My wife had been there before and told me a great deal about. The restaurant has a really simple atmosphere and everything there, but the food, is not really fancy. So that is point. It is all about the food. It... More

Not very elegant, no great wine list, but a very good sashimi/sushi menu in this small restaurant. Would be nice to have espresso after the meal. Better for lunch than for dinner.

They serve some of the best purveyed sushi I've ever had in New York. The owner himself slices and serves you and exquisite variety of fish. Some raw and some cooked this Omakase only restaurant serves an extraordinary selection of tastes. The service is excellent. A lone waitress attends to your needs without you ever needing to ask. No spicy... More

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighbourhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighbourhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
