We've stopped here for an after-dinner ice-cream twice. And it's a highlight of dinner in Chinatown. The flavours are wide-ranging, and if you've never tried durian, this may be the place to get your first taste of this controversial fruit. It's been very crowded, forcing most of us to wait out on the street shouting advice in to the member... More

We ordered the pandan ice cream flavour which was amazing. The texture was very creamy and they give you a lot for one scoop. The place itself is very tiny so it's hard to manoeuvre but they make one of the best ice creams you will ever taste.

Our local friends took us to Chinatown Ice Cream Factory after dinner with the promise of Durian ice cream (wife loves it me not a fan). We got there just after 10 only to be dismayed they were out of a lot of the favs including Durian and the Zen (peanut butter white sesame) We ended up having Pandan and... More

If you come into Chinatown and you don't stop by Chinatown Ice Cream Factory on Bayard St for a scoop of ice cream, you don't know what you're missing!!!! They have the usual Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry....but, have you tried a Almond Cookie, Black Sesame (my favorite!), Ginger, Durian, Green Tea, Lychee and many more....Gotta Try!!!!

Even in cold winter days people flock to this well known sweet paradise of excellent ice cream. Exotic and rare flavors are found here and the quality is excellent.Be prepared to make a long queue in the summer months well worth the experience. Creamy and not overly sweet ice cream in mouth watering flavor but I suggest you to try... More

Went with some friends and we all loved it. Some indoor seating would be nice, but based on the quaintness and great ice cream make this place a can't-miss.

For an old famous establishment , the outlet looks small and when we went in there was no one else- so we were not too sure whether we landed in the correct place. However the ice creams on offer confirmed that we reached the original China town ice cream factory. They have some unusual flavors - we tried Black sesame... More

The place has a pretty good reputation for Chinese ice cream, but after trying it, I think I'll stick with my American ice cream shops. It was different- has a taffy like consistency, difficult yo scoop with the plastic spoon they give you. At $4.65 for a small cup, it's definitely overpriced and over-rated.

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown
Bursting with an amazing array of sights, sounds, and smells on every block, a visit to Chinatown feels like entering a different world. It’s a colorful spectacle that gets even more crowded on weekends, when families stream in to enjoy huge dim sum feasts and to stock up at the markets on Mott Street. To take a break from the buzz, grab something sweet from one of the many bakeries in the area and head to Columbus Park, where many Chinatown residents exercise, play games, and chat the day away.
