Over-hyped, over-priced and not very good. Your money is better spent at any of the bars and restaurants in the neighborhood.

Great burger, fabulous chocolate shake at reasonable NYC prices. The place was crowded and we ended up outside at 55 degrees so I would try to go earlier next time (before 12) if I wanted to sit.

I had a great time here. I went with my peers from Madison Preschool for the Mentally Disturbed. After this we had a skydiving contest off of the Rockefeller Center. Loved it! 5/5

My early twenties and late teenage kids and I like to rate our burger experience all around the world and I am very pleased to say that the Shack Shack at Madison Square Gardens has "taken the cake". It was the best tasting burger ever and the fries and ice cream were equally as superb. We have eaten burgers in... More

Very busy in here, but the paying queue went fairly quickly. And by the time we found a seat the food was ready too so wasn't so bad. Great quality burgers and vanilla shake was delicious. Really enjoyed our lunch here.

Pretty good burgers, a little small by my standards, but still tasty. Good date place although the lines can be long, they are pretty fast and fresh.

Its another Burger joint, but I gratefully appriciated the simple offering: Plain (cheese) Burger, Veggies, Ketchup and solid quality for a decent price. Not so much fuzz or overloading whith all kinds of fried crap that you get elsewhere. Not a big Fries fan, but they were popular - shakes are plentyfull LARGE for US standards so have fun and... We went to the shake shack, in the food court central station, had the most amazing salted caramel milkshake and burger. Although it looked liked we'd never be served, the queue disappeared very quickly and we were eating within 7/8 mins. Grand central station great to people watch!!

Staying in Flatiron District

Neighbourhood Profile
Flatiron District
Offering many of city’s best restaurants and shops set amid classic New York architecture, the Flatiron District is no longer under the tourist radar. At 23rd Street is the famous triangular Flatiron Building, which makes a good picture no matter what angle you photograph it from. Be sure to look up at the elegant architecture as you stroll the streets- much of this neighborhood is part of a historic district that was home to many of the city’s most famous department stores at the turn of the century. At the northern end of the neighbourhood, Madison Square Park is best known for being the home of a famous burger shack, but it can also be a quiet refuge to spend an afternoon, and it frequently hosts interesting public art exhibits. In the lower part of the Flatiron District you'll find Union Square, a bustling crossroads at all times of day and night.
