Met here to have tea with my daughters (teens and early 20's) last night. We do love to try new tea places wherever we go. We also love doing our own high tea , which is hard to beat because being of Irish descent, we make some amazing scones at home! The atmosphere at Alice's is really drab and run-down.... More

Shouldn't every restaurant have fairy wings to wear while you eat? Well, they may not be big enough for anyone over 8, but it was fun to see the little girls so excited to put them on. We loved the shabby chic decor and unmatched china. Eggs were good, oatmeal was fine, scones and tea fit for a queen, fairy... More

All the whimsy ends with the name, Alice's Tea Cup. The place is dingy and drab; the illustrations on the walls are dark and poorly done; and the food is lousy. They forgot the hollandaise on my smoked salmon benedict. The smoked salmon was ice box cold, making the eggs cold. The salmon was also rock bottom in quality and... More

I've been to this one and another one of the Alice's Tea Cup cafes, and both times I've been swept off my feet! There is so much choice when it comes to tea, and the food was so yummy. One of my favourite places in the whole world! The second time I went it was for my birthday, and despite... More

The space is well-worn in a charming, delightful way...fresh foods and baked from scratch items all day long...the tea menu is amazing- pages of teas to choose from. The chicken curry sandwich is yummy, and I love the Banana Nutella homemade cake! My friend loved her chocolate cinnamon scone, and they have many fresh-baked scones to choose from. Spaces can... Sadly I did not have time to tea. A friend had brought me a gift card for this sparkly place and so I stepped in hoping to come out with a small box of loose leaf but got a lot more. The staff were so friendly and even though it was high tea time the lovely girl behind the counter... More

The food and tea are delicious at Alice's, which also offers several locations. My daughter and I enjoyed two different flavors in our small pots of tea, and even had enough left for a to go cup on a chilly morning. The scones are delicious! We also had a breakfast: the benedict with spinach on a buttermilk scone for me,... More

It was worth the wait on a cold mid-day weekend to slip into Alice's Tea Cup, a themed restaurant on East 64th Street. Greeted by Garrett, he got us seated as soon as he could at this popular site. Victor, our waiter, was very knowledgeable about the menu and the more than 100 varieties of teas they offer. We started... More

What would you pay for tea that you could get at whole foods and breakfast that your hungover spouse could make for you with just the basic ingredients? $10? Double that and that is what you would pay if you went for breakfast. 5 stars for the wait staff - they do a great job and are very accommodating. So,... More

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighbourhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighbourhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
