First time visitors to NY and staying at a hotel on Park Ave we searched for somewhere local to get breakfast/brunch. Large selection of teas and a great menu. Food was excellent as was the service. We became regular visitors. Probably our favourite eatery.

A fantastic place with great decor. We had breakfast . I had the cornmeal pancakes with berries and I got eggs on the side. They were fantastic. One friend had the waffles. Which he couldn't finish. Everything was perfect. But don't go for coffee, they only have a weak drip coffee. The teas on the other hand were some of... More

I've been coming to Alice's for brunch at least once a year for quite some time now. It only happens when I have the patience to wait 1.5 hours for a table and that's a rarity. I will say that it's worth the wait because the restaurant itself is very cute the first & second time around. After that you'll... More

Best Eggs-Benny on the island. Poached eggs over a homemade ham and cheese scone. A pot of Anna's Earl Grey tea and a Pumpkin Scone to go!

In all fairness, the tea selection is wide and it is good. BUT unfortunately that can't make up for the awful service which ruins the overall experience. I have never seen such a mismanaged business. I have tried both upper east side locations, the worst one being on 64th street. Here is the problem: an empty tearoom, idle waiters hanging... More

It was definitely worth the wait. Normally they are not busy, but it was. The teas were amazing, food wonderful, and the wait staff was amazing! Mad Hatter was good for 2, Grilled Cheese for a child, and Warm Lentil Salad for myself! Job well done!

This was our third visit to Alice's tea cup on the east side. Every time we visit NYC we try to come here. From the moment you step through the door you feel like you are visiting a fairy tale with mix matched tables and chairs and dishes and tea cups. The menu is extensive with teas and cakes and... This experience transported me back to childhood. The event was my granddaughter's birthday celebration. The venue was magical yet subtle with glimpses of Alice and her journey through Wonderland. The tea service was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. The staff was amazing and the appearance of a fairy princess delightful. I need to return for a grownup lunch.

We went to Alice's for a Sunday brunch. The place is small and had a hint of Alice in wonderland theme. Their scones were the best. We had egg benedict and white& dark chocolate scones with rasberry, an amazing combination, which I highly recommend. The staff was very friendly.

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighbourhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighbourhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
