Took my Dayton sons here for the first time while visiting them from out of state. All they kept saying was, "how have we never heard of this place." Just delicious the playgirl, arigatou, and the shogun sushi rolls were fabulous. Tried a Korean bowl for the first time. Yum! Clean and friendly service.

You can always count on Asian cuisine for dinner on Christmas Eve. And so can everyone else! Many of the large Hibachi and/Or Buffet restaurants were booked solid but this small family owned restaurant was able to accommodate the 7 of us with only an hour's notice. They offer traditional Japanese and Korean dishes. The menu had a variety of... More

This little place might be easily overlooked, it has an unassuming exterior. But, you will be glad you ventured inside! Authentic atmosphere, delicious sushi, warm & friendly service. A joy!

My wife and I were recently visiting the USAF Museum in Dayton, OH. We had a craving for a Sushi dinner. Found “Akashi Sushi Bar”. Don’t let the outside fool you. Quaint Japanese ambiance awaits, inside. They open for dinner at 5:00PM. , and were the second customers to arrive. Upon entry, there were no odd odors. This welcomed us... More

We are never disappointed when we visit Akashi and have the sushi. Everything is always fresh and delicious. They have a full bar so you can have sake, beer or cocktails with your dinner. We usually start with miso soup and dinner salad they are excellent. The dining room is clean and comfortable. The staff is very attentive and always... More

We have been here many times in the past. It is one of the best we have ever had. The presentation is excellent and the quality is top notch. I would recommend highly.

Met for lunch and enjoyed a great meal. While there were many guests the service was quick and responsive. I had the spicy sushi platter and it was just rite. Exactly what I expected though not hot by my terms. I would gladly recommend this place and will Visit again.

Akashi has arguably the best tasting sushi in dayton. I've never had any complaints over the sushi, miso soup, or salad, although of the three the salad is the weakest. The problem with akashi is the price, which is a little more expensive than the bargain sushi places, and the atmosphere. Admittedly we've only been for lunch, but at lunch... More

Was traveling and needed a Japanese fix. Looked up a few places and ended up at Akashi. Best decision you can make. It has the feel of a restaurant in Japan. Television with Japanese tv and the music was also authentic although more Japanese pop than traditional. I had the seafood tempura for an appetizer and it was a great... More
