When I go Kosher, I always try the Matzo Ball soup. It's my staple from a goy perspective. Go for it, you'll love it!

We shared a combo sandwich of pastrami and corned beef with cole slaw, on rye. The sandwich is ample in size, and is a good value. We also enjoyed the hospitality and conversation with the owner, who is very customer oriented.

Hershel's menu is Jewish deli food. The portions are generous and you really can share. A small counter, however, there is also seating in the terminal if you cannot find a stool. Eggs Cream- where do you find those anymore. The pastrami is delicious and cut inf front of you. There are salads and potato lattke (with sour cream or... More

The market is like a food flea market. Foods of every conceivable kind. In Philly, it's not surprising to find a couple of different purveyors of cheese steak, but maybe the last thing you'd expect is a terrific NY kind of deli. Great pastrami sandwich. Very tasty, hot pastrami, filled to overflowing. Not cheap, but well worth it.

A busy Saturday mid-morning and a hankering for some Jewish deli food! Try Hershels! My wife had the matzoh ball soup and we split a corn beef special, with a side of macaroni salad. We came early enough to sit at their counter on the other side of the take-our line. Both items were very good and affordable. Our server... More

Join the line in the Reading Terminal Market for the best deli food around! Uber-generous meat portions on great bread (requires chewing, not just swallowing like Wonder bread). I love their aromatic pastrami -- just watching the workers slice it is a joy! My wife goes for their 3 salad platter, about 3/4 lb total (secret favorite: whitefish salad). Ask... More

Great pastrami sandwich and no matter how busy they are (which is usually very busy, all the time), the service is fast, food hot, and perfectly prepared.

I came here around 3:00 PM on a Monday, so I didn't have to wait in line and was able to order immediately. I decided to get a corned beef reuben and an order of latkes. The latkes were phenomenal; definitely some of the best that I have ever had. I was slightly disappointed with the reuben, as there wasn't... More

Located in the Reading Terminal Market, this is a real NY style deli, with quality meats and side dishes. We went for the pastrami reuben and weren't disappointed. Next time we'll try the latkes, too!

This deli is advertised as being the best deli outside of NYC .In my opinion it is the worst.I had a corned beef sandwich with so much fat on it it was barely edible.
