I have been to this pub a few times now and love it. The food and drinks are incredibly affordable. The wings are a great buffalo sauce, and the beer was 6.50 a pitcher!! The scene was great. It cries out fun! Not to mention it has been in business since the 1860's!!

Great selection, good "pub" food. Staff friendly , week days slower , weekends busy to crazy. Mostly locals hanging out here. Place truly goes back too 1860. Area around has many shops restaurants and things to see. Good walking to be had also.

This was a great favorite from when my husband worked in the city so when we went to see the Nutcracker we decided to have dinner there. We had the German Sausage Platter and the Mile High Meatloaf. Both were fantastic. I loved the decor and enjoyed seeing the subway signs on the walls from all the old department stores... More

When I saw how old this place was I knew I had to give it a try, seriously, 1860? You enter this place off an alley, so it made it a little tough to find at first. We first went by for lunch and the place was packed. It's not that big, but they have a lot of seating crammed... More

Darker and dingier than most, but, about what you would expect, and want from the Olde Ale House. Nice selection of excellent local beers and friendly staff help offset the cuisine. I only tried the Philly Cheesesteak sandwich (it's Philly after all), but, it was just OK, and it came with a bag of chips, but a nice dill pickle.

We've been here twice and had a great time! Wings are excellent, lots of beer options on draft. We sampled various local beers in this museum like pub. You can spend forever just checking out all the stuff hanging on the dark wooded walls. It's just a cool spot to see while downtown, it's near the market and the city... More

We visited prior to Christmas. We loved the decor and sat by the fireplace. The place was packed and the music was loud and football was on the tv. We waited about 10 minutes for a table and sat at the bar. They had plenty of beers on tap and inexpensive too! I loved the nachos and the reuben. They... More

We had heard of McGiilian's for quite some time and thought we would stop for lunch. Beer selection is great. The waitress we had was friendly but seemed very scattered. Food was below average for sure. When we were there the atmosphere was warm and fun until you looked up- there was a bucket hanging from the ceiling to catch... More

TDS: Thank you for stopping by and glad you enjoyed the beer list. Like the bar, the building is 156 years old and, from time to time, we do have issues with it. Hope it you're back in Philly you'll stop by for a beer so we can make sure you have a better experience. Cheers! More

The atmosphere here is amazing, it was certainly a great pub feel. All of the employees were very friendly, however when we went, they were a little short staffed despite not being full, I will chock that up to a single day issue. The beer was delicious, with a great selection, the biggest issue was the food. It isn't bad,... More

Have been here a couple times. The atmosphere is always great and the beer good. The food is on the shabby side, I have never tried the same thing more than once because I have never had any food that I would recommend. I only come here because new comers to the city always want to try out one of... More
