I wanted to take my wife somewhere new for Valentine's Day, and reviews here pointe me to Joseph's Steakhouse; I was not disappointed. Parking was a bit dicey due to the recent snowfalls but there was more than enough across the street that provided easy access to the entrance. We were seated a few minutes after arrival. Service wasn't the... More

14 of us went to Josephs for a private celebration and sat quietly in the catering hall, if you met my family, a separate room is needed.. let me say there were a few who were worried on the selections. Well, BAM! We had choices of sooo many options (lets see 8 oz filets (the preferred by many) done perfectly,... More

The waitress was pleasant and personable. The onion soup was good, not overly salty as it can sometimes be and the salad fresh as one can get for the middle of the winter. The cheese steak was good. Not something one would rave about, but good. The disappointment was the rubbery, overdone lobster and the totally dry, with a slightly... More

Went on a week night over Christmas break as we were traveling through the area. Decided on Joseph's and were quite pleased with the experience. Festive casual elegance. Quaint cozy meal in what we learned was Eleanor Roosevelt's "Tea Room". Our server was pleasant and attentive, but not hovering. Joseph himself was friendly and engaging and went from table to... Went to this restaurant to enjoy an evening out with the wife, I always pass this on my way around town so I thought I'd give it a try. The Good: The service was excellent. Our waitress was always there at the perfect time during the course of the whole meal. Asking us for refills on our drinks along with... More

Seven of us went for dinner, unfortunately they had some banquet going at the same time in the back room, and I think they forgot to staff the rest of the place well enough. Service was pretty slow. Food was average, I asked for an end cut on the prime rib, the waiter came out to tell me no end... More

Before a trip to Hyde Park, I checked out area restaurants that were participating in Hudson Valley Restaurant Week. I was curious about Joseph's Steakhouse but when GPS led us to it, I thought there had been a mistake. We went up to the door thinking we could take a peek and decide whether to enter. We entered and did... More

Just went Friday for Restaurant Week - they were out of prime rib so I ended up getting upgraded to a 14 oz ribeye, which was hands down one of the best steaks I've ever had! The mussels and amaretto ice cream were delicious too! My friends and I absolutely loved our experience there - from the food to the... More

Location is an old roadhouse on 9G, just around the corner from Eleanor Roosevelt's post-World War II Cottage. Building is not that much to look at but the inside is simple, clean and cozy. Food was very good although some steaks can be pricey; always order medium rare, as it continues to cook on hot metal plating. Choice of fresh... More

We enjoyed dinner at Joseph's after a day of touring in the area. The service was very good and the owner very pleasant and accommodating. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. The ribeye bone-in steak was cooked perfectly and the eggplant parmigiana appetizer was enough for a meal in itself. Salads were also very good. Everyone in our group... More
