Went to celebrate two birthdays. We all had excellent food from beginning to end, along with excellent service.

I have been to Matthews several times before, so I figured it was a good place to celebrate my Mom's 80th birthday! My family came in from out of town and there were 9 in our party. I made reservations about a month before the date to make sure we had a good table. The night before our reservation, I... More
The service was excellent and the food was delicious. I took my husband for his birthday and we both enjoyed the dining experience.
Matthews is a delightful fine that serves excellent cruising in a comfortable and welcoming surrounding, The service is some of the most attentive we have encountered, The staff is responsive to your needs and accommodating to any special request, Aside from their daily specials we found the Duck delicious -- the sea food daily special truly special -- and the... Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to try this restaurant. When I called about a reservation for 15, I was directed to the private events coordinator. Apparently, their dining room is smaller, so large parties aren't allowed in there. First time visitor and wasn't disappointed. Some interesting menu options, steak tartare starter was good but not the best I've had. The beef tenderloin with foie gras was excellently prepared and presented. Service was very attentive without being intrusive. Wine list wasn't as extensive as I would expect at such an upscale establishment. Glad I brought my own wine and... More
Matthew's is definitely the best restaurant in Jacksonville which delivers an incredible culinary experience in an upscale setting with professional service. The menu is constantly changing with inventive ingredients pairings. The open kitchen is a show worth watching where everything proceeds smoothly. We continue to check this place again and again and are alway pleasantly surprised
Thank you for the kind words Tom. We look forward to the opportunity to serve you again. More
We celebrated our 50th anniversary with my daughter and her husband. This was our first visit. The menu I thought was fairly limited. And the preparations were very unique. Everything was a la carte. And was more expensive than I expected. The Kobe appetizer was 2 ounces and was $45. The escargots was excellent and a very different presentation. My... More
The chefs tasting menu is always an adventure worth taking. We always end up at Matthew's for any special occasion. The staff is the most knowledgeable in town and level of service is unmatched.
