Really mixed here… if they carried it off the attitude just one more degree they would be pretentious, yet not doing so the service comes across as Hotel Budapest. There is a very deep wine list, yet on my visit there was no one who really understood its ins and outs. The food was very good (not great), yet the... More

I write great reviews for both good and poor service. Weeks ago, I made a reservation at this restaurant for a business dinner for 10 people. We are attending a conference in Baltimore. The day before the dinner, the restaurant called me to cancel the res.! I was left with 24 hours to scramble and find another place. They gave... More

We walked into Cinghiale with a party of 6 on Sunday night at 8:00 and the restaurant closes at 8:00. But they were very happy to seat us. The food was amazing as always but it's the service that really stood out. Granted, we were the only table, but Amy was the best server we have every had. She suggested... More

If you're looking for an upscale Italian experience I would highly recommend this restaurant. We ate here for restaurant week and I was slightly disappointed with the first course choices, but the second and third choices more than made up for this. I had the endive salad (no dressing, very bland, underwhelmed), the pumpkin ravioli (burst of flavors, home made... More

Cinghiale is better than ever. First, the valet parking on arrival is so convenient (note, Lancaster Street currently--January 2017--has a detour). We were promptly seated in the Osteria and met our waiter, who was outstanding at explaining the menu, which had changed format since our last visit in October 2016 (there's no more fixed price menu, all a la carte).... If you live in DC or Wilmington, Baltimore isn't far away. This restaurant is worth the trip. The food was excellent; the service was attentive without being underfoot. The treated a traveler dining alone as a guest not a bother (too rare at many restaurants). Every dish has a suggested wine pairing. I had a set menu and paid an... More

Went there with a large group and really enjoyed the great food and the wine that was paired with it. The place can get a little loud but if you are in a large group this will not bother you very much.

The service was impeccable. The cocktails, turnip soup and calamari appetizer were delicious. We thought the two pasta dishes we ordered were interesting and flavorful. The short rib entree that we shared was odd. The short rib meat was compressed into a dense square. It almost looked like a brownie. The flavor was okay, and the potato succotash was slightly... These people really pay attention to what wine will complement what meal, so take their advice. Even if you think you're an expert, let them guide you. The food is terrific, and it's made even better by a smart and wide-ranging wine list. You'll love the way they present it, too -- by region and not just by Red/White/Sparkles.

I hosted a dinner for 24 people at Cinghiale's. We had planned this dinner far in advance, but the number of attendees kept changing and Cinghiale's worked with me and changed the room a couple of times based on the number of people attending. Even as late as two days before the event. They were very flexible and accommodating. They... More
