We had dinner here a while back for the first time. The menu is both traditional and interesting. Good for sushi lovers and for other dishes. We will return again and again. Frequented by many Japanese and other Asians, including children. Prices are moderate. Best to make a reservation as lines can be long. Easily accessed by bus and train... More

It used to be great i heard and from the review, but they might have changed owner or whatever. Service is pretty bad, food is not worth the price and wait. The sashimi isnt as fresh too. I'd say try it at your own risk.

Shiki is a small traditional Japanese eatery. It is located just off the beaten path off Harvard Street, Brookline on Babcock Street in a lower level part of a building. Decor is quite simple. Tables can fit a single couple to a larger party. Food servings are small and costly for the amount of food served. One would expect more... More

I am a sushi lover and freak, and by far this is the best sushi in brookline. The superb service done by japanese and the guest are from diverse part of the world. Small and not pretentious setting but full of flavors and fresh fish.

This is a nice little restaurant that serves authentic Japanese dishes. My favorite was the seared Mackerel with grated daikon. Not a dish you see in most Japanese restaurants but it was delicious. Also enjoyed the Saki sampler: 4 sakis for $14, though the servings were a bit small. The place was packed on a Sunday night so service was... More

If you're craving Japanese food in the Boston area--for authenticity, taste, and variety --you must go to Shiki in Brookline's Coolidge Corner to find it! This small, Japanese run restaurant is located in basement on Babcock Street. It's not cheap, but not O-ya pricing either:) There is something for everyone on the menu--and it's delicious!

We happened to park in front, on our way to shop for shoes across the road. Small basement in a side road to Harvard St. It was lunch time, so I added a few quarters in the parking meter, and in we went. With not much in the way of expectations. We ordered two different Kaiseki menus, at $16 and... More

This has been the best service at a japanese restaurant that i have ever been to. The food quality, presentation and taste was impecable and delicious. We were served by a japanese server not a chinese one! the food menu was in japanese and english and it seemed a high end place that japanese would go to eat at. they... More

Shiki is a very good Japanese restaurant. The menu is quite extensive, ranging from vegetables to meats to seafood (including sushi and sashimi) to noodles and more. There were so many things I wanted to try, but I simply couldn't eat enough. I tried the takoyaki, ebi karaage, cold buckwheat noodles, sashimi, a squid maki roll, and the broiled chicken... More

We adore this restaurant. We are not experts of japanese food but we really like it and this is a very good experience, with lots of interesting. super-fresh ingredients, beautifully presented. And with many taste sensations. I did not know one could pack so much flavor in a broth with one single clam!!! LOTs of types of sake too. The service... More
