We love Zaftig. Great selection of Jewish foods. Family favorites include Empire Eggs (eggs Benedict on latkes with spinach and lox), salami and eggs, and the ahhhmaxing Challah French toast.

I have ordered from here before, and the food was excellent! I really like their smoked fish options and the bagels were outstanding. Delivery was quick, and the food tasted fresh as a result. If you don't live in the immediate Coolidge Corner area, there is a 7 dollar delivery fee, however. Watch out for that when you're ordering.
Our daughter first took us to Zaftigs for a Mothers day brunch in 2007. Since then we try to go there when we are in Boston. There matzo ball soup is fantastic as is there corn beef sandwich. If you are in the mood for comfort food, this is the place. Safeties is located in Brookline. The area also has many... More
Boston is, oddly, a lousy city for deli food. Zaftigs is a very good-though not great-deli in Coolidge Corner, Brookline. The restaurant is large and comfortable. My Reuben was pretty good. Three of us shared the potato pancake appetizer, which was excellent. Prices were very reasonable. Service was quick and friendly.
Zaftigs used to make a New York sized sandwich. Now I lift up the bread and ask "where's the meat?" Prices have gotten too high for me to go here for lunch anymore. Breakfast is enjoyable, however. We enjoy the mixed fish plate with bagel, one of the better values.
Over the years, we have had nothing but really good experiences at Zaftig's. It has always been on our "must do" list whenever we visit Boston. Our recent visit for lunch presented a few typical things, a long wait outside and very good service. Some not so typical things were overdone poached eggs and a corned beef hash that was... More
Zaftigs has for years provided an essential ingredient to Boston area dining -- a real deli, with a "New York" style and feel, and exceptionally good food. For many in the Boston-Brookline area, it provides a comfortable sense of coming home; a culinary connection to our youth; and darned good food. The comfort level is still there. But in two... More
This is a great place for a meal anytime of the day, but we were there for breakfast, and I thought the food was fantastic. They had a variety of unique dishes too (blintzes, knish, etc) The decor was great. Lots of colorful paintings on the walls.
Not many breakfast/brunch places to go so this place is generally heaving. They will give you a buzzer and you can wait outside or carry on shopping as long as you don't go out of range (2 blocks). Coffee is weak and perculated. On a plus side you do get endless top ups for free. Food is below average. Service... More
