Fairbanks is famous for its Thai restaurants, and with good reason. The Thai scene here is amazing, and a particular joy of Interior Alaskan life (and touring) is to sample as many Thai restaurants as possible. I stumbled upon Nim's when a friend recommended Sweet Basil (as it was closing, unbeknownst to us), so we hit Nim's within one month... More

Amazing Thai food, always changing, I had the Avacado Green Curry, and it was awesome! The prices are very reasonable. It is difficult to find, but worth the trip.

Stopped for dinner . The food was served hot and it was good. The only thing is the serving sizes were on the smaller side . We each got an item and it wasn't quite enough for three of us .staff very attentive

Sweet Basil is under new ownership and chef. The pork fried rice was the best I have had since the 70's when I stayed at the Siam Intercontinental in Bangkok. Though the place isn't fancy, I wouldn't hesitate to eat there again.

I've eaten here many times. Surprised it's not more popular, maybe because of the location on S. Cushman. The curries are good, their yellow is probably one of the better in town. Give it a shot, you'll be surprised.

Decent pork red curry and crispy spring rolls. Thai iced tea was just how I liked it, more tea than sweet and thick enough that it never got watered down even, when all the ice melted. Clean restaurant even though the outside is definitely nothing fancy. Attentive service :) I'd definitely eat here again - I saw pho on the... More

We went so often the owner knew what we wanted as soon as we walk in the door. I don't know what they sauce is they serve with the fried spring rolls but it is awesome.

I hate to say but the food here was awful - we had traditional Thai dishes from apps to dinner and the results were the same - noodles were horrible, rice was the worst ever and the chicken was made a long time ago and then reheated (very dry) - I would recommend going anywhere else - the service was... This trip to Fairbanks we ate at three Thai restaurants for lunch and Sweet Basil was our least favorite. It is next to Prospector, so we gave it a try. We had a pretty good Coconut soup, and a fair Chicken with Basil dish. The flavors of the food were subdued, short on fish sauce and other Thai flavors and... More

Some friends who now live in Thailand for two-thirds of the year recommended Sweet Basil as the best Thai restaurant in Fairbanks. We were not disappointed! The cashew chicken is delicious as was the peanut chicken. I wish I could remember the Thai names for the entrees but it really doesn't matter since the menu gives excellent descriptions of the...
