If your looking for a cozy place to eat this is it. Sourounded by a a lot of wood. The menu is limited but if your looking for a great beef on a bun dipped in broth this is your place! Hamburgers are awesome! Apple pie and ice cream for dessert delish!

In Brooklyn some guys say "Aven-you U," others, "Aven-new U." What ever.... We all know the primo place for beef slow spit roasted then dipped in its own juice is right off Avenue U and Nostrand Avenue at Brennan and Carr. I've been going there since the late 60's. Taking grandchildren there is a possibility I avidly look forward to.... More

Stopped in while visiting home and I knew I had to stop in after seeing the restaurant on Man Vs. Food Travel show. The Roast Beef did not disappoint. I had to go back twice while I was home to get more of the good taste. Thank you guys for what you do

Nothing is more comforting than a hot roast beef double dipped in hot beef broth The onion rings are crispy and delicious. Ice cold tap beer is on hand in a frosted mug!! Perfect anytime!! Lunch late afternoon and late nite munchies!! Opened late so it's a perfect spot!!

We were here in July while visiting family & all we could think about this visit was to come back for their dipped roast beef sandwich. Try the KFJ (Knife & Fork Job) or just the double dip with au jus. Sooo yummy. Blueberry pie was excellent also.

We saw this place on Man V Food, so on our trip to New York we thought we should pay it a visit. Excellent Roast Beef and good service. Something a bit different from the usual tourist trap, alittle bit out of the way but worth the effort.

They sell roast beef sandwiches that they dip in a light gravy similar to au jus sauce...it does smell very good when you walk in , but the meat is just carved for the sandwiches, without cleaning it up at all...they are loaded with fat and gristle that I really do not enjoy... the french fries are ok...it is a... Only 10-15 items on menu, pub stuff like burgers, fries, frankfurters, chicken fingers, wing dings- chicken sandwich was good, burgers were better and their signature roast beef sandwiches were excellent. Both Manhattan and New England clam chowders were good too. Service was great and VERY friendly, felt like we were long time customers....actually thanked us for coming in.....
