Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Que Paso?? NYC has a lot of good Peruvian restaurants - this is not one of them. My first order of Peruvian chicken from this restaurant was great. Three times after this, I received chicken that was old and dry.

I don't understand the great reviews, although they are from last year. Since then we have the pandemic so anything could have happened in-between. Anyway the cocktails were nice, the empanadas were good but the mains were really bad. it tasted like frozen food from...the supermarket and not the good brand. meat was overcooked and the sides were bland. the waitress was very nice but the service was slow and the space was not packed. I rarely post a bad review but I felt bad about spending so much money on a lousy dinner so here you are.More

Nice restaurant with excellent food, great location, and good staff. We have eaten here a few times now and nothing we have chosen disappoints.

The service was slow, eventjough the restaurant wasn’t fully booked. My ceviche mixto was okay, the flavor from the leche del tigre was good, had a good kick but the seafood was not that good. The Lomo Saltado was just terrible, no the meat was...from poor quality, not seasoned and cheewy. The rice was old and the sauce was just bad. I was really disapoointed at how horrible this place was.More

It has been a while since I had such a good original seviche and pisco sour. All plates were very tasty and are genuine Peruvian. Nice and helpful staff and if you speak Spanish, surely do. Btw, they have a nice wine list.

My girlfriend and I just went from Manhattan to Brooklyn through the Brooklyn bridge and found this Peruvian place with tasty food! We tried the empanadas (very similar to the Brazilian pastéis) and the Lomo steak (mignon). Both are really good!

The brunch menu is much more limited, but the sandwiches did not disappoint. They were also kind enough to let us order appetizers off the regular menu to accommodate our toddler. Service was great. I’m not sure if the AC was out that day or...they just keep it warm, but on a hot summer day it was a bit toasty, however it wouldn’t stop me from returning.More

I enjoyed amazing food during a trip to Peru, so I was anxious to taste their delicious cuisine again but skeptical that I could find it. But Pollo d'Oro was wonderful at recreating these delicious flavors! My adult daughter and I visited on Saturday evening...and were served by the friendly Luciana, who recommended some excellent dishes. We started with very good Pisco Sour drinks and shared a Causa Crocante (potato) appetizer. My daughter ordered the Seco Cordero (lamb shank) and I had the Cuzco Shrimp. All were simply delicious. For dessert I had the chocolate mousse, which was rich enough for two to share. My only regret is that I don't live in New York so I will have to fly back to dine here again!More

We had spent the afternoon at the Brooklyn Museum and sought a restaurant close to the Hampton Inn where we were staying. Pollo d'Oro was right around the corner. Its menu is Peruvian, which was a first for me. I had a lamb shank stew...that was delicious. My companions also enjoyed their meals. Dessert was a yummy chocolate sponge topped with flan and garnished with strawberries. The place is a pleasant store front and seems to do a good carry out business. Our server was enthusiastic and capable. Glad we chose Pollo d'Oro!More

Friendly servers, good beer and traditional NYC Italian food, plus great paninis and half a block from the hotel on the way to the Barclay Center. We were very pleased with our food and service.

We went with visiting family to this recommended restaurant. Fabulous! Authentic Peruvian cuisine by a Chef from El Callao, Perú! Believe me, we know Perú food. Pisco sour, Ceviche, Causa, Anticucho, Jalea (Seafood): Tasty and textbook preparation, with neat presentation! Oh, and great music too....Meet one of the owners, Manny, ensuring quality and pleasant attendance. Coming again!More

Saw the menu on the window and walked through the door only to find out I had walked into the Chinese restaurant next door. After walking around the corner and finding the right door, I walked in and sat at the bar. Being hungry and...not terribly adventurous I ordered the flat steak and Peruvian fried rice. But Inca Kola. Really. Inca Kola. I'm not a soda drinker but i had to chuckle when I drank it and it tasted like bubble gum. The food was very good, and filling. Service was very good and friendly.More

I'm a fan on Peruvian food after trying it during a visit to the country. This restaurant showed up highly rated on TAdviser so we went there. Try the starters. Multiple good options there. And go for the classic Peruvian cocktail Pisco Sour - this...restaurant does justice to its greatness. We visited this restaurant while on a family trip. It's not exactly kids friendly but there are options on the menu suitable for kids.More

Oh my! Yum yum yum... here on business, this place was walking distance from my hotel. Ceviche mixto was AMAZING! Shrimp, scallops, octopus, calamari, and fresh fish with a sweet potato cake (?)... So good! I had salmon (which was very good) but my food...envy was for the salad and rotisserie chicken I saw go by. I need to come back here just to eat at Pollo D'Oro again!More
