The dockside is what you want in a fish house, with fresh fish on the menu right out of the lake you are looking at while dining. Extremely friendly staff and the best fried herring you can find any where. The walleye cheek chowder is to die for, thick and loaded with cheeks and potatoes Their fries are lightly battered golden... More

I just stopped in to get some smoked to go. We go some king salmon, coho salmon, and trout. They really know how to smoke and flavor the fish just fight. The salmon was flavorful and still moist. Just great. The trout is awesome! Super flavorful. To go smoked fish with crackers and cheese on the shore cannot be beat.

This place gets great reviews and the locals also rave about it. The walleye fish and chips was one of the best I've had, and they also offer smoked fish and cheeses. Seems like there's a good mixture of locals and out of town folks that come in. No complaints - I highly recommend stopping here.

This is a frequent favorite for a quick lunch or dinner. Very casual. Place your order at the counter and they will deliever it to the table, so the service is quick and efficient. There's seating outside if the weather cooperates. The chairs aren't very comfortable, but they don't have a lot of space for better chairs. You could order... More

This is just a really nice place to eat. Prices are reasonable and the food is excellent. Fish Market has both inside and outside eating areas. I had the Walleye/Pickerel basket and it was excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful. Try this place out when you are in Grand Marais.

With the busy season winding down, the only fresh fish choice the day we went was Lake Herring. With images of pickled herring dancing, my wife and I nearly walked out the door. Am I ever glad we stayed. The Lake Herring Basket came with a large portion of tasty, just right breaded fish and beer-battered fries. My wife said... More

This place had a wide variety of food offerings!! Excellent quality at a very reasonable price! Fish served is fish they have caught! Always eat here at least once every time I'm in Grand Marais.

Stop in every day while visiting Grand Marais to order the catch of the day in the Fish Chowder Soup. Tasty.

This is a great place to stock up on picnic supplies- smoked fish, and other fish related items. The fish and chips are quite popular and you can sit on the back deck and watch the comings and goings of the harbor with your fish and chips and a beer. This place was featured on Andrew Zimmern's TV show and... More
