When you walk in its very small and welcoming. A place we frequented when we lived in Mn. And on a family visit were fortunate enough to grab a bite here. We ordered our favorite, French onion soup and the cheeseburger. While I want to give them a 5, I can only give a 4 and concidered a 3. The... More

Living in Cook County year round means limited eating out options. We really appreciate the effort Crooked Spoon puts into their food. It's a cute and cozy atmosphere, the food is always delicious, and the staff are really great people. Definitely in my top two choices of places to eat in town.

The Crooked Spoon usually has a special steak every evening, which I'd recommend. It was cooked wonderfully and the veggies on the side were perfect. The only thing that needed a little help were the potatoes served with it. But overall, it was a good meal.

The food is hearty, in the right proportions. Not cheap eats, but it is Grand Marais where food is always a bit more expensive. But, it is also fresh and flavorful. It's original, to say the least. The cafe is small, so expect a wait if it's busy, but they do a nice job at turning the tables. I don't... More

My husband and I, along with my brother-and sister-in law, wandered into this cafe in the early afternoon last weekend and were more than pleasantly surprised by our experience. It's a small place, light-filled, with a nice selection of craft beers and a pretty extensive wine list. Our lunches were delicious and interesting. My sister-in-law declared the BLT the best... If you're looking for some food that is delicious and a little out of the ordinary, try this place. The BLT was just the best-homemace bread, fabulous bacon, and a curry mayo-to die for!

After a day of slogging through the snow on various hikes along the north-shore of Lake Superior, what a delight it was to enjoy a wonderful lunch at the Crooked Spoon Cafe, the soup was amazing and the BTL and cole slaw was simply outstanding! A great cafe accompanied by wonderful service. We will be going back for sure.

Travelling by boat from Thunder Bay to Superior Wisconsin in October, the weather took a nasty turn so we ducked in to Grand Marais for the evening. We heard about the Crooked Spoon and decided to go there for dinner. Our gracious hostess informed us that it would be an hour for a table, so we went up to the... More
