This is the second time in several years that we decided to eat at Liberty Oaks. The first time was not a good experience wait staff was mediocre. This was a group of 10 that went here for dinner. We ordered dinner and when bringing out food some guests were told they ran out of the entrees. My husband and... More

A friend and I were downtown for a music festival and wanted to stop for a leisurely dinner, as opposed to food truck fare (not that there is anything wrong with food trucks). We wanted a full service sit-down dinner in the AC. We were shocked that we were one of two tables being served. The place was empty! OK,... More

Nice place to go for a wide variety of palettes. We have taken many visitors and all meals have been excellent. Service is first rate. Conveniently located to shows and events in Greensboro with a parking garage next door.

Ambiance, 5 stars; location, 5 stars; cuisine, 3 stars; service, 3 stars. This is a venerable Greensboro institution and I am loath after just one visit to be overly critical, but the accolades can only go so far. The restaurant is rustic elegant, evidently in a historic building with a lot of character creating a lovely ambiance for a special... More

We ate here on a Saturday night so it was completely chaotic when we first walked in. We had reservations, but stood at the counter for a good 15 minutes before anyone ever acknowledged that we were there.... and there was a guy there entering information the entire time but never made eye contact, purposely looked away from us. This... More

Impromptu pit stop to GSO from CLT to RDU and we thought it would be "just another burger place" but it was much more. We had a hard time deciding between the several daily specials.

We held a surprise birthday party for a neighbor and enjoyed ourselves immensely. The server, Scott, knew what was going on and really made it a great day. We all had sandwiches and no one would have asked for any of their lunch taken back. He even fixed the dessert we all shared on different plates, so we could all... More

Let me start by saying that I have visited Liberty Oak twice, with the service being better the second time around. However, with that being said, the service wasn't fantastic. The salmon dish was excellent and the dessert was exceptional, but the restaurant is a little hard to find if you don't know what you are looking for and the... More

The Liberty Oak Restaurant was not somewhere I have ever thought about trying. A friend invited me to join her so I went along. The staff was friendly and efficient, the food was good (I had the roast beef and brie on a croissant with a side of fresh fruit), and finished with a decadent creme brulee. The food was... More

Built in 1883, and is the oldest building in downtown Greensboro. It isn't opulent when you look at from the outside, but does have patio seating, mostly shaded, but what an impression when you open the door! You're immediately enveloped in the oak wood bar, walls, and hostess area. We were seated immediately, and our server was there quickly. She... More
