Worth the short wait in line for a table on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Brisk service, excellent food, fun setting with lots of dieefent people, old and young. Cool vibe, nice setting, abundant parking.

We were on our way out of town, and needed breakfast. We'd been past The Smith Street Diner at least once, when we were downtown. So we decided this would be the place. We pulled into the small parking lot next to the building. Happy there was room. The diner looks small when you walk in, but there is a... More

First off I'm not sure who wrote some of these reviews. This place is not that fantastic. We chose it based on reviews. We have been looking for a really good breakfast while on vacation but cannot find it. Sadly this wasnt it either. The good: coffee was great. Nice and robust and my cup was never empty. Unfortunately that's... More

This little diner was fabulous. A homey feel with great food and outstanding service. Must try their homemade corned beef hash, gumbo and "cat head" biscuits.

There was a long line but was able to slip into available counter stools this morning. Great eggs and homefries and a biscuit the size of a small baby!

So a couple of my friends and I went out to this place for the first time after reading about it on Trip Advisor. So glad we did! I love little locally owned diners, and this one is just about ideal. The decor is straight up small town country diner; very simple, but clean and roomy. The menu is about... More

We actuaaly stumbled upong the Smith Street Diner while looking for some other restaurant and decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed!! Although there was a wait we were offered seating at the counter and got seated immediately. To begin wit, the service was excellent. The girl waiting on the counter customers was a delight. She clearly... More

We went for breakfast, for the first time. The food was amazing!! Probably the best home fries I've ever eaten. The biscuits are 2 inches thick, light, yummy! I can't wait to go back and try lunch and dinner....

Had an absolutely amazing breakfast. Don't go unless you are really hungry. The biscuits are the size of a toddler's head and the pancakes are platter-sized. Food is very good, very reasonably priced, and while the place is a little loud, it's a diner. It wouldn't seem authentic otherwise. Tip: sit at the counter and chat with the other customers... Definite diner feel. Tons of food for the money. The grits didn't even salt or butter. They were perfect. The biscuits are bigger than the palm of my hand. It's loud though, so be prepared. We had about a 10 minute wait outside because there's absolutely no room to wait outside, do don't come during bad weather. Definitely coming back!
