Park Avenue Bistro has been recommended to us several times, but we just never had time. We made time this year, and we'll definitely be back! My husband had the daily entree special of lamb chops and vegetables/potatoes. The lamb was cooked exactly to his request. It was perfect. The artistry of the plate was beautiful. Our friend had one... More

Absolutely loved the food! Best farm to table cuisine I've eaten in a very long time. I had the special of the day which was pan fried snapper with puréed carrot and squash with mashed potatoes. My friend had the filet mignon cooked medium with seasonal veggies and mashed potatoes. Both dishes were so well prepared and tasty. Also had... More

In Hot Springs again for the Racing Festival (April 2017), made our way quickly to this lovely place in a part of town that has reached its low point with the demolition down the street of the grand old Majestic hotel. Famously enjoyed fresh halibut and most tender filet of beef. Agree wholeheartedly with other recent reviewers that this is... More

This place is basically hidden or'under the radar ' in Hot Springs- no advertising; no website. The owner/chef is a culinary artist whose creations could fill the pages of fine dining magazines. He uses the freshest ingredients and has fish of varying types specially flown in. It's a somewhat small place staffed with an outstanding head waiter, Robert and his... More

We have been eating at the Bistro since it opened. The owner is the cook and takes great pride in the preparation of his offerings. I always order the Long Island Duck and have never been dissatisfied. It is always well prepared.

Absolutely stunningly great find! Expertly crafted food with gorgeous presentation. Thoroughly solid wine list as well. This is a chef who knows what he's about! I had the Chicken Provençal which was absolutely outstanding as was the pear endive salad with Gorgonzola. All absolutely delightful. The chef created an off-menu vegan dish for my girlfriend that featured house made pasta... More

We were lucky to find this place. The food was great. The service was exceptional as well. We had a seafood stuffed sausage special which was amazing. Other dishes ordered were a grilled salmon special over parsnip purée, tilapia meunière over a delicious risotto, escargot, roasted quail with wild mushrooms, Irish soup special, and a pear and endive salad. Everyone... More

Very disappointed in the service as well as the dinner. It was definitely not worth those prices. We walked in to an empty dining area and greeted to only be told the were full for the night. A nice elderly lady cane by and said for us to just follow her and she'd seat us. An hour later only a... More

The restaurant was a bit off the beaten path and didn't look very promising on the outside, with beer signs in the windows. The host couldn't find our reservation. He seemed stressed, as did our waitress. We later found out that the chef had been in the hospital all week. They were out of lots of stuff, including three different... More

We were blown away by this little restaurant. It's not much to look at on the outside and then you step inside and it's not much to look at on the inside! Doesn't matter because the food is better than any steak we've had recently in Austin, perfectly cooked and flavorful, and the veggies are crisp-tender, colorful and tasty. I... More
