Pros: +Excellent service +The best bar food! We love the burgers! Best fish fry in town (get the perch) +Chico (owner) is very friendly, hospitable, & thoughtful. He has events throughout the year where he puts out a spread and offers party favors or incentives. +Great beer selection +Pool table and darts; meat raffle on Saturdays! No cons! Bottom Line:... I like fish, I don't like fish frys. Huh? I can't stand soggy fried foods. Many places have a good fish fry. But if they're busy, or the wait staff is slammed, or a rush is started, what happens? Heat lamp! Couple of minutes under a heat lamp and it's soggy. Villa Tap? No heat lamp. Order comes in food... More

I was craving some walleye after a very long week last Friday; the Villa Tap is close to home and we've enjoyed their food in the past but hadn't been there for quite a while. It was time for a redo... We arrived around 6:15 and the place was standing room only, as is the norm, which really is a... More

First trip but not the last. Advice - get there early! Classic WI Friday fish fry in a tavern. Loud, crowded, frazzled waitress. I know this doesn't sound like I'm giving a good review, but anyone who really knows what a classic bar fish fry is like, will understand and love it. I'm looking forward to sampling the sandwiches, and... More

I go there for lunch, get the same every time (why tempt perfection) . Excellent burger cooked to my doneness liking, toasted bun, fresh toppings and the best fries I've tried. For lunch I take friends there, or I take contractors there, and if I can't find a reason I just take myself there. OMG typing this review makes me... More

I went there this Friday to try the fish fry. We started at the bar and the bar tender was super friendly and helpful. We waited for only 20 minutes and got our seats. I must say the fish took quite a while to get, but I wasn't in a hurry so that was ok. I had the walleye and... More

Chico's is a small, dark tavern with a congenial staff. It looks like a great place for beer, but we don't drink. We go there for the best steak sandwich on the north side. It's always tender and comes on a grilled bun with an option of fried onions. Chips on the side, or upgrade to the sweet potato fries.... More

If you are looking for a quality northwoods fish fry without heading to the northwoods, this is your place. They offer a great Walleye Filet Sandwich for lunch that is impossible to finish along with several variety of fish fry's. Don't let the outside fool you, this is a nice place on the inside with a northwoods feel. Staff is... More
