Michael's is pricey ($8 milkshake??) but delicious. I really like the veggie burger and overall you can tell the ingredients are high quality. Really nice staff, too!

We love Michael's! Any time we come to Madison, we must stop, either for lunch, snack, or, as in this case, a light dinner (yum, hotdogs!) but the star of the show is their frozen custard, way much better than the 'we will not name' competition... :-)

The price is a bit much for my liking for a medium sized custard sundae, but it's always tasty whenever I come here. Not a trip I can afford often, but it's nice every once in a while. There is seating inside, but all I usually have time for is the drive-thru, which is usually pretty good with timing.

Visited Michael's on the recommendation of a friend that's a UW Alumnus. The custard met our expectations in flavor (yum-o) but at just under $5 for a small sundae its definitely not an everyday type place.

Good food, kids liked the hot dogs and cheese curds. Fast service. Fun atmosphere. Cool antique signs

We stopped her so as a Mother I could get my free ice cream and grab a quick snack. My husband and I arrived with our 2 year old son, and it was pure chaos. My husband too, our son into the back to try and get him to settle down, and most people know who have gone through this... More

Michael's has been a neighborhood destination for years especially in the summer. It now competes with Culver's, which is close by. A sign displaying the flavor of the day can be seen in only one direction when driving by. Large selection of favors that change daily, but frankly, many are not appealing. I emailed asking for a custard menu and... More

Awesome signage with great retro American inspired decor. Custard was superb. Burgers were as expected. Overall the food reminds we of a steak and shake or a culvers. Unfortunately during our visit the entire restaurant was exceptionally dirty (debris on floor, spills that haven't been clean up, dirty floors). Service was responsive but uninterested/disengaged. Surprising given we came on a... More

Jewels of America's dairyland are the frozen custard restaurants of Wisconsin, and Michael's is one of the best. Cones, cups, shakes, sundaes, malts, and floats are all superb, whether you choose a flavor of the day or top your vanilla with hot fudge and toasted pecans. You can also get burgers and fries, sloppy joes, hot dogs, and the like.... More
