Sometimes you need a big fancy brunch complete with mimosas, pastries and 12 variations on hollandaise sauce. Other times, you just need coffee and cheap breakfast. This is the latter. My husband and I stopped here on Monday morning on our way out of town for a quick breakfast. The atmosphere is perfectly eclectic and not stuffy at all. We... More

I cannot eat dairy so breakfast is tough to eat out so when we found ourselves in Madison, I was thrilled to find Wallaby's. The vegan French toast was amazing. I had it twice during our trip and it was equally as good both times (I had different toppings - Cinnamon apple and banana). I highly recommend it. My kids... More

Willalby's is one of the places I go practically every time I'm in Madison. It has the feel of a homey small diner and delicious breakfast staples. My two favorites (and thus my go-to breakfast combo) are the hashbrowns (best I've ever had, to be honest) and the B.E.S.T sandwich (basically a BLT with egg). It's pretty much my favorite... More

Stopped in on a Sunday around 11AM. We sat at the counter, and our kids at a table. The place was full. After putting our orders in we waited 45 minutes before our food came out. Decent food, but not worth the wait.

We called to make a reservation for 8 people for breakfast and was told that they do not take reservation and was hung up on .Willing to give it a try we went there and was told very rudely that they cannot accommodate 8 people . They should have informed us over the phone to save us the trip .... More

This is NOT your run of the mill diner. I wish I could explain Willy St and its charm, but it's best just to visit Willalby's and you will understand. I had the vegan biscuits and gravy and I almost cried. It's one of those meaty foods I just miss, a lot. It was fantastic. Staff is outstanding! Don't forget... More

If I lived in Madison, this is where you'd find me every weekend morning! Had breakfast here - one guy taking orders and one guy in the kitchen. Pancakes the size of your head. Delicious skillets, and omelets - coffee served in mugs you'd find at a garage sale. Loved the kitschy vibe. Cash only. Solid breakfast.

Since Nate took over the restaurant from Christine, he's bumped up several things (real butter, better coffee, slightly revamped menu) to make this place rock harder than ever. Speaking of, the booths can be a bit on the un-comfy side, but the Skillets are completely awesome, as is everything. Sister restaurant Fair Oaks Diner also hits breakfast grand slams nearly... Not actually a greasy spoon, as the place is clean, but older. Great retro booths, counter and great window tables for kids to watch all the action on the street. Yummy bacon and hash browns.

This is a great neighborhood greasy spoon. The food is tasty and thoughtfully seasoned, the atmosphere unpretentious, and the staff and customers colorful.
