What a great ice cream shop! Lots of flavors (you can even taste a few) from which to choose. I liked how they have a single mini-scoop. I should have bought a second scoop!

Great ice cream at a reasonable price. $3 for a big scoop $5 for a kids size shake and it's plenty big. Great stop in beautiful garden district.

I highly recommend this little ice cream shop! My husband and I are in town for a vacation and wanted to enjoy some ice cream as we were driving around the Garden District. Safe neighborhoods surround this local gem. Lots of big delicious sweet ice cream treats to choose from. The ice cream is all homemade, I believe. Most were... More

Best banana split EVER!!! The ice cream flavors range from your typical vanilla to lavender honey. The milkshakes are to die for. It brings me back to my childhood going here. Just walking thru the door and taking one breath in could seen you skipping down memory lane. Love it. Only draw back is it is cash only. But I... More

Creole Creamery is one of our FAVORITE spots in New Orleans. They have a wide variety of ice cream with lots of fun and funky flavors, and it's all DELICIOUS! Just remember -- they only accept cash.

Some of the best ice cream I've ever eaten. Made locally, and worth every calorie. It's in an old McKinsey's bakery and still has the McKinsey's sign up top. Bring cash and an empty stomach.

This place is a true original. A local hangout frequented by New Orleanians. Try the sundae. It's my family's favorite. The ice cream is creamy and straight forward. The flavors are unique but not off putting. Service is fast and friendly.

I enjoyed the ice cream and the staff was very pleasant and helpful. I had some difficulty getting to the creamery itself (it is not exactly close to anything else I was planning on visiting) and I did find it pricey, even for a creamery in a touristy area.

It was very hard to decide which flavor to order here, and I ended up getting a 4 mini-scoop sampler. So many unusual flavors! The place was beautiful, clean, and the staff were wonderful. Don't miss going here!

Nice place to stop after a long walk on a hot day! Mexican Hot Chocolate and Salted Carmel made for a nice combination. Give it try!

Staying in Uptown / Carrollton

Neighbourhood Profile
Uptown / Carrollton
Very much their own self sufficient unit within the greater metro area, Uptown and Carrollton tone down the urban edge with a friendly attitude and collegiate feel. Home to Tulane and Loyola Universities, all the students living in the area ensure that Uptown and Carrollton stay youthful, cosmopolitan and vibrantly fun. Two of the liveliest thoroughfares for nightlife and socializing (and yes of course more of the city’s outstandingly good food and live music) are Oak Street and Maple Street. For a truly wild time, the expansive acreage of Audubon Park, with its zoo, golf course, and actual patches of swampy wetlands, means peace and quiet are never too far away.
