We try to stop in with every trip to New Orleans. Typically we get the gelato (which is a very hard choice to make - my favorite is the coconut and basil), but on this trip we decided since it was King Cake Season, we would try something different. We purchased a king cake bread pudding tart and it was... More

I went here on a food tour, and everything I tasted was so good! We had some King Cake, some red velvet cupcake, some chocolates, and gelato. I had the Charlie Brownie gelato and the King Cake gelato, and I loved them both. If you're craving something sweet, make sure to stop by!

This is the cutest little place to eat. The decor is adorable and the neighborhood of this business is eclectic. If you're in the mood for something sweet, this place is great!

Suggestions: Everything really was outstanding and we didn’t have a particular “favorite”, however the macaroons were THE BEST I have ever eaten Pros: Gillato was epic, truffles were really good and unique, had a lot of flavor options for both the macaroons and the truffles, attention to detail Cons: Parking, the pastry they used for the eclair was just good... Tastes to delight the palate; service with a smile. A quaint store front found in the New Orleans Garden District. The brownie sundae and coffee au lait enjoyed.

We got public transportation in order to go to this place. They have chocolate, gelatos, and macaroons. It is expensive but, was definitely worth it. We went because we wanted to try macaroons.

I am a pure dessert enthusiast. Leave the meat, give me dessert. I eat it. I bake it. I love it. This place was 100% worth every dime I spent, the time to park and walk, and the "are we there yet"s from my son. Everything we got was delicious and I am counting the days until my return. Nuzzled... More

This place may be a good value for couples or girls' nites. Not a good value for a family. The desserts aren't representative of the traditional styles nor New Orleans flavors. Our children (ages 5-9) didn't prefer the cupcakes or the gelato.

Cute and colorful store selling pastries, macarons, chocolates, and gelato. Only had the gelato which was great. Definitely worth a visit if you are on Magazine St.

Sucre is a tasty delight! In your stay in New Orleans make sure you pay them a visit. For the same price of a beer at other places, their delightful treats will make you feel like royal living in Paris.

Staying in Garden District

Neighbourhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
