We had the scallop appetizer - excellent, the gulf fish entree and the filet entree. The entrees were good, a little different. The bread with parmesean-paprika butter was great. Romantic little courtyard out back, got there for happy hour when they serve bacon with your drinks. Kinda quirky and fun. Waitress was great.

We were fortunate enough to stumble into this place for dinner. Not only was the food fantastic, (lamb chops and crab cakes) the service was also fantastic. It was so good that we are definitely going back before we leave.

Had great meals and drink just accross the street from the Orleans. Do not miss the bred and the fish dishes. Everything is great at this place to eat.

We had a fun date night at Orleans Grapevine. The staff is very helpful! The decor is really nice. They have a self playing piano which was really cool. They serve bacon with your wine. We had 2 of the red wine flights that allowed us to try several different types of wine. All of the wine we sampled was... More

A previous reviewed commented on the small plates and was so right. My dinner companion and I each had a salad and then split three small plates. The barbecue shrimp and beef medallions were delicious. The baked oysters were just like heated raw oysters and didn't have much flavor - no sauce. We ended the meal splitting the key lime... More

We have two types of oysters. One is a garlic butter sauce poured over the oysters and the second one is a rich cheese sauce baked on the oysters. You must have received the one with butter and garlic sauce. We are so sorry it was not up to your standards. We are going to eliminate if from our menu.... More

This restaurant is highly rated and it did not live up to the hype. Waitress was nice, she recommended the shrimps barbecue and that was good; broth was tasty and shrimps satisfying. Not brilliant but a good dish. I wanted to try the fish - sounds very fancy on the menu. Fish of the day was drum and I was... More

We are extremely sorry you were not completely satisfied with your dinner. I will attempted to address your concerned. First, you said the fish was cooked well, but the sauce had fat in it and bland. Most customers find the sauce outstanding. We make the sauce with sautéed bell peppers, onions, heavy cream and Tasso, which is an original Cajun... More

Ate here with a group of friends on our last night in NO. IT was a great choice! They offer a large selection of entrees and small plates so everyone found something they wanted. I had the fish of the day, red fish with crab meat topping, rice and vegetables. It was all delicious. I had Crème Brulee. It was... More

After 4 nights of "must do" eateries we wanted an easy, relaxed evening. Orleans Grapevine turned-out to be the perfect match. The street side view of the restaurant/bar is deceptive in that the inside is far more attractive and the garden area in the back is the real French New Orleans. The food turned-out to be really, really good.... even... More

Thank you for your rave reviews of our service, food, and interior ambiance. As for the plain exterior of the building, the French Quarter is controlled by an organization called the Vieux Carre Commission. All the buildings today, have to remain as they were in the 1800s. This building was built in 1808 and was the first creole restaurant in... More

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
