Every time I go to New Orleans I make it a priority to go eat Fried Chicken at Willie Mae's. I have never tasted any Fried Chicken like the one served here. It is renowned as the best in America for good reason and I...More

"The best chicken in New Orleans." We asked every Uber driver, cab driver, waitress, and bouncer. They all said the same thing. So, we had to check it out. We caught an Uber, as it's a little too far to walk from the Quarter. We...More

It's off the beaten path located in a neighborhood known as Treme'. Miss Willie Mae, the founding Matriarch unassumingly said, "I just cook." Later in her life she received a well deserved James Beard Award. Damaged by Hurricane Katrina, it was almost shuttered forever. Thanks...More

The outside looks rundown but once inside it's homely and inviting. Customer service is ok. Our food was delicious but the green beans and macaroni and cheese were a little spicy for my taste. In addition, the macaroni and cheese was cold which was a...More

This is the #1 place to get chicken in New Orleans or anywhere else for that matter. The food network stars even go there. There's a picture with me and Simon majumdar . He is a very popular figure on the food network channel. Ask...More

This unique New Orleans neighborhood cafe is legendary. We have dined there twice and I only have one comment to make. This is the best fried chicken you will ever eat! The white beans and rice dish is outstanding as well. Go!

That sound? That flavor? That certain je ne sais quoi
that lets you known you’re in “Nawlins” and nowhere
else? It’s all good and in broad abundance on the
streets of Tremé, where so much of what’s considered
to be the very best of New Orleans culture and
tradition is, put simply, just how people go about
their daily lives in this historic part of town. As
one of America’s oldest African-American neighborhoods

Yes you can and you should, if you cannot dine it! It is so worth the stop, though. The food is worth taking the time and eating there, I promise!
