They were closed the first day we tried to visit. On the second day, they were open but maybe it must have been an off day. About 10 flavors were listed on the menu board but the counter person greeted us and began telling us what she didn't have, which left about 4 choices. Of 2 adults and 3 teenagers,... More

I had heard about this place prior to our visit to NOLA and put it on my list of "Things to do" while visiting the city. Our hotel was located a couple blocks from the facility while made it a huge plus for us. Surprisingly, the clerk at the front desk of our hotel never heard of it! She actually... More

We actually stopped here on our bike tour and what a pleasant surprise. The flavors are unique combinations - I had the caramel and salt, my wife had the strawberry and basil and daughter had strawberry and lemon zest - with a perfect balance between the flavors and they are excellent. The staff was friendly and helpful in explaining the... More

Went to this little gem last weekend and was greeted immediately by the friendly owner and creator. We had so many flavors to choose from, but decided on the blood orange, coconut/basil, and rose/saffron cream. Each was delicious in their own way, and were one of the cheaper and less fattening New Orleans treats. We didn't make it back, unfortunately,... More

This place was a fantastic find on a hot day. The popsicles are to die for! I had the Vietnamese Coffee twice and my husband had the Strawberry and cream twice, they were that delicious! The owner's husband mentioned that he loved the cream mixes the best too. The coffee is a mix of three different types of coffee and... More

At the recommendation of the lady there, I had the saffron rosewater popsicle. It was delicious. I kept thinking about it, so I went back the next day. I tried the pineapple cilantro, because I'm a big fan of cilantro. It was very refreshing. I wish I'd found it sooner in our trip. I think I would have gone every... More

I don't know why people find this place something to talk about. I had seen them on the food channel so looking through a food pamphlet I circled it to make sure that was a spot I hit. Got the raspberry/lime pop and it was nothing to write home about. Would spend $3 for another.

I am not much of a popsicle fan but Michelle's handmade popsicles are terrific. Made with fresh ingredients, each flavor is a delightful surprise -- pineapple with cilantro, blueberry with lavender, Vietnamese coffee and avocado. But my favorite was salted caramel. Highly recommended.

Great little popsicle place in the Quarter. Open at noon most days and closes at 6 but I have been there when it was closed during those hours so check or call first. Fantastic salted caramel, pretty tasty watermelon, tried the ginger strawberry and needed to take a taste of SOMETHING to get that taste out of my mouth. Eeek.... More

We love the food in NOLA, but it can be overly heavy. Meltdown Popsicles, with its emphasis on natural (and often organic) ingredients was a breath of fresh air. We had the blueberry-lime, saffron-rose and the lemonade with ginger grated into it. Both popsicles and drinks were delicious and so refreshing on a hot, June afternoon.

Staying in Ninth Ward

Neighbourhood Profile
Ninth Ward
People focus too much on the hardships so closely associated with this well known working class neighborhood when what’s really most remarkable about the tightknit community is its indefatigable spirit of rebirth and ability to stay true to its roots. Perhaps not an ideal destination for those visitors who tend to keep well within their comfort zones when traveling or those with bucket lists filled to the brim with top tourist attractions, the Ninth Ward is nonetheless there for those who are most keen to discover the places they encounter. But it’s not all about learning lessons when going to the Ninth Ward. With its “Living Museum” and “steamboat houses” and a long enduring dedication to preserving local culture, there’s more than enough to see and do during a daytime tour of the area.
