I have not been disappointed the many times I have visited this restaurant. The food is good, the service is better. When I don't go there for a full meal, I go there for drinks and a dessert chocolate fondue.

Overall, this was a fun dinner. I tend to eat very quickly, so having to wait for my food to cook is a nice form of self restraint! The booth style layout also offers privacy and avoids the crowded restaurant feel. Service was good, although our waiter kind of dropped off near the end, presumably because it got busier. The... We hard a party of six. They gave us booth seating with only two burners. Our drinks must've been made across the the street due to the fact it took over 20 minutes just to get them. The food wait was just as bad! They weren't busy at all so no reason for the long waits!! They automatically put gratuity... More

Great change of pace from the usual dining experience. Liked the hands on cooking of our own food which made for a fun evening. The variety of food we ordered was different from your normal restaurant meal. The cheese, meats veggies and dessert fondue gave your taste buds many flavors to savor. The service was excellent and the staff very... More

My husband I enjoyed our experience at the Melting Pot and the Cheese Fondue dinner there. It was fun and I liked the idea of the Fondue Pots being placed directly on the cook top table. (Much less dangerous especially with children than the fondue pots with the burner of flammable liquid under it.) The way the tables are set... More

We went for a nice dinner with 6 of us. 4 of us had never been, & had a hard time deciphering the menu. The server was nice, but it took forever to get through the meal. It seemed like everything that could go wrong, did! From drinks, to server & helper disagreeing on which broth was which. We ended... More

Been to several around the country. Celebrating birthdays with my friends. We were close to the only ones in the restaurant but service was slow. Food and fondue was good. Would go back.

We went just for the chocolates and it is better to ask if they do the chocolate for one person. It was me and my husband. It is cheaper that way and it was a good amount. We ordered 3 different ones, all small and simple perfect portions. If you are not on a schedule it is a good place... More

I don't know if we have a new waiter or he was just overwhelmed with how busy it was on a Friday night, but after an hour and a half of being there from our reservation at 7:30 we had only gotten our salad course. I spoke with the manager but I didn't want our waiter to be in trouble... More

While in New Orleans we were looking for something different to eat. We saw the Melting Pot and did not really know what type of restaurant this was. Upon entering we found that the entire meal was made up of fondues. Our waiter was excellent in that he explained the process and recommended different type of fondues. The meal was... More

Staying in Garden District

Neighbourhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
