Our first night in NOLA we had dinner at Irene's, located a half block from where we were staying. Classic Italian cuisine, perfect romantic atmosphere, great food and wine. Does it get any better? We look bed our experience at Irene's .

the food is just great and delicious, I don't just want to name one dish, because everything was great, and that's what we heard from the other tables around us. No matter what day of the week, you better reserve a table, otherwise you will have a long wait. The night we came, a Thursday night, some people waited for... More

We visited Irene's after it being the most recommended on a Facebook poll we created. We made reservations and they seated us promptly. Two in our party had their heart set on getting the soft shell crab but unfortunately, they are not in season at this time. We tried a variety of appetizers including the escargot, crab au gratin and... More

We went here for a New Year's Eve dinner and the food was delicious. I still dream of the oysters and the duck. Would love to go back and would highly recommend to anyone. Definitely make reservations as it fills up.

no negatives well, OK, some of the patrons are too casually dressed - but no negatives as far as the restaurant is concerned. the place looks great, the staff is efficient, friendly ( but not TOO friendly ), and knowledgeable. the food is very good. last time we were there we had the duck and the filet. they were perfect.... The food and experience was amazing! This is the best restaurant we went to in New Orleans. The server had great recommendations and everything we tried was great.

There were so many places that we looked at for our last dinner in New Orleans and we came across Irene's online but couldn't reserve a table, though we still wanted to try it out so we rolled up anyway. We were not disappointed and only had a 15 minute wait for a table. Fast and efficient service throughout and... More

We ate there on our very last evening in NO and glad we did. The meal was excellent! A few negatives... It's a very loud restaurant which can be annoying. The Glass of Cabernet I ordered came in a wine glass that you'd expect in a cheap Italian restaurant and the wine was fair. Should have better Cabernet by the... More

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
