Located in a quiet neighborhood close to Lafayette cemetery. Service was really good. We tried the 3 course dinner option and found the food to be decent. I had high hopes for the bread pudding soufflé but I found it too "boozy" for my taste but others may prefer that. The portions were pretty large.

An experience - a touch of class - not to be missed. Wonderful setting with professionally trained wait staff. The setting in the Garden District home is beautiful. You will enjoy the martinis. Take time to walk around the area to view the wonderful large old homes.

The food was great, honestly. The service was amazing. If your willing to pay those kind of prices, you get what you pay for.

They enforce their dress code, you need reservations, and they offer 25-cent martinis. Sorry, but if I have to dress up in "the big easy" and make reservations and pay big bucks for lunch, I expect a bit more that a crowded table and food similar to what I can get in the French Quarter. Yes, the food was tasty,... More

The food is absolutely amazing. If you are in New Orleans, and you have the means, it is a one of a kind experience. Service is friendly and food is incredible. The turtle soup and jerk pork roast were a hit. We recommend lunch. You can get the same food as they serve at dinner for about half the price... More

While in New Orleans, five restaurants were mentioned over and over as the classic New Orleans restaurants to which a foodie must go. We went to four of them and Commaner's Palace was our favorite. The food and the drinks were amazing!!

It is hard to describe how excellent this restaurant is except to say... if I had 24 hours and a free ticket to anywhere I wanted to go... I would go to New Orleans and eat at Commander's Palace again. I am not kidding when I say it was the best meal of my life. Not only because of the... More

I came in out of the rain spontaneously, not really expecting a seat at 7:30 on a Friday night. Instead, I was attended to immediately, taken to a table, through the kitchen, into a room bordering a palm garden. From there, I was treated like a king. In all my years I have rarely, perhaps never, encountered such a well-mannered,... More

Went to commander and eat it was excellent the valet was very helpful showing us where to go n what to go see around the city. It's too bad that the valet are only getting paid $2.13 per hour and most of the time they don't get tip which is sad for a high class restaurant I ask them why... More

Staying in Garden District

Neighbourhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
