Was in New Orleans with family to celebrate my sister's 50th. We had a lovely meal here. My mother wasn't feeling well and they were very accommodating and kind to her.

The food and service was outstanding. The salad, pork chops and bread pudding were excellent choices.

The crepes with goat cheese and shrimp were extremely rich and the shrimp tasted strong. I ordered the pork chops. They were very good but filling and but the portions was enough for two people. In his haste to clear the table, the waiter removed my partially full glass of wine and spilled it on the floor. He did bring... More

Have been to NOLA four times, and four times my wife and I have eaten dinner here. We've also stopped in a couple times just for dessert and drinks in the beautiful bar/indoor courtyard area. The food and service have always been top-notch. I still believe the pecan-encrusted puppy drum and bayoubaisse are fabulous and the bread pudding is the... More

Nice place right off of Jackson Square where the mystery of New Orleans past meets fine dining. Great atmosphere and good food. You must try the appetizer of crepes with goat cheese and shrimp. Is was amazing! And don't forget to see the table under the stairs that is set for the ghosts each evening!

Booked reservations here to celebrate my husbands birthday. The restaurant is beautiful inside and out. It is formal dining but smart casual attire. The waitstaff were great very attentive. We both went with the 3 course meal for 39.95 a person. It was exceptional. The shrimp and grits were amazing but filling. We barely were able to finish our dessert,... More

Description
The Bistro at Muriel’s Jackson Square offers New Orleans classics like Gumbo, BBQ Shrimp, Oysters "Muriel", Turtle soup, Fried Gulf Shrimp Po-boy, Crabmeat Imperial, Shrimp Remoulade & contemporary Creole cuisine like Pecan Crusted Drum & Wood Grilled Tuna while the Courtyard Bar is the perfect place to drop by for drinks & appetizers. The Séance Lounge is the place for a relaxed, comfortable meeting before or after dining. Comprised of two areas, The Outer & The Inner Séance, the Séance also tells the story of a mystic & checkered past. The Outer Séance addresses the New Orleans era of Storyville & when Muriel's Jackson Square was one of the French Quarter's best bordellos! The Inner Séance is the preferred domain of the resident ghost, Pierre Antoine Lepardi Jourdan, & is the perfect spot for an intimate conversation & a drink amongst its plush surroundings.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
