We started at the bar and enjoyed the bartender's informative explanations about my drink (sazerac) and quick response to our order for an appetizer. Moved to a table. Lots of buzz but easy to have a conversation. Had the duck gumbo, which was excellent. Loved each course. Service was perfect - never needed to ask for anything but never felt... More

Dined here 8 years ago and returned today to again enjoy their great cooking. Pleased to find their panko crusted poached eggs are still on the menu. These are served on a bed of house made pasta under the light meal section of the menu. Also enjoyed the flour-less chocolate torte for desert. Its to die for! Appreciated the way... More

I have been eating here for years and have always regarded it as one of the best restaurants in New Orleans. We had another great meal on a Sunday night during Mardi Gras. I had a Sicilian beef appetizer that was amazing, the gnocchi were little clouds of heaven and the fideo side dish one was on the best and... More

This place was recommended to us by locals in the restaurant biz and it did not disappoint! Food and service were excellent but not pretentious. Shredded goat on the menu and the dish was very good, a little middle eastern in the presentation. I had the Chicken and Orzo - sounds simple but it was by far the best chicken... More

A true taste of New Orleans. Our perfectly seasoned food was presented in a beautiful manner. Each dish was exquisite.

To my way of thinking, this is as good as NOLA food gets. Innovative, flavorful, not too rich. Great wine list. You can come casual or dressy depending on the occasion. Just one thing: try to eat outside if you can, it can get pretty noisy on the inside.

There is no shortage of great places to eat in New Orleans, but add this resturant to the list of "must-visit" experiences. I ordered the cornmeal encrusted fried oysters --- which were meaty and moist. The hot sauce (served on the side) was hot --- this was a wonderful appetizer. The others ordered the Gumbo, beet salad, and French fries... More

Have been coming here for years - never disappointing! The portion sizes are perfect and the dishes are prepared very well. The drum over rutabagas in a light butter sauce was excellent as the main course. THe cornmeal fried oysters as the appetizer was light and tasty.

This restaurant was great, we ate "small plates" which were a good size and very tasty! I would most certainly return.

Love the small plates at this intimate restaurant in the warehouse district. Creative cuisine including some NOLA standards with a twist.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
