Lebanon's has been a staple of my New Orleans cuisine for over 15 years. Great selection of Middle Eastern food, great staff, and excellent prices. Get a table full of appetizers for a lot less than you would ever imagine.

My wife and I have been coming here for years and we have never, ever been disappointed. The Chicken Tecka is the best in town. Try the Sauteed Vegetable plate; veggies mixed with rice covered in feta cheese and baked. Awesome! Everything else is also very good: hummus, falafel and lamb.

My companion recommended this place to have a casual dinner. I did not know the place since I do not live in New Orleans. The weather that evening was absolutely georgeous, in 70's and dry air. We sat outside and had a great time. The interesting thing is there is another bar/restaurant next door and they both share the patio... More

We often come to Lebanon's Cafe for lunch or dinner with family. If you don't find parking in front of the restaurant due to Carrollton Avenue being very busy street, will find on side streets. This place is always busy as mecca for all students and tourist. The food, drinks and service is great. As other writer says "Good Vegetarian... More

I ordered the hot vegetable dish. Nice assortment of vegetables on rice and covered with cheese. Well seasoned. To be excellent for me, I would have liked the vegetables to be cut a little smaller and cooked just a little longer. Salad was simple with a nice lemon dressing. The pita bread was wonderful. My friend had soup, a cauliflower... More

We found Lebanon's Cafe to be average. We sat outside and our waitress seemed to forget all about us. Every table was full, but she just disappeared. We had to ask another waitress for assistance, and then she forgot about us! The food was average. I had the vegetarian place, and I've had much better hummus and tabouli. My husband... More

Really enjoyed the relaxed cafe, pleasant and busy on a Friday night with great service and good food. After being at a conference in the Hilton Riverside, it was refreshing to get out of the tourist district to this part of town. Especially nice for a vegetarian! They have a vegetable baked dish on the menu that is large and... More

Lebanon's Cafe is an excellent middle eastern restaurant. Their hummus is smooth and creamy and their pita is fresh. I got the chicken shawarma and it was cooked and seasoned perfectly. It is in a great location right on the street car line close to other restaurants & shops.

This is the place where locals go for Middle Eastern cuisine. All chicken dishes are well seasoned and moist. Portions are big, so you will need a to go box. Bring your own beer or wine.

I ate twice at Lebanon's twice recently, once for dinner and once for lunch. Starting at the top, the dinner was delicious and an excellent value: cauliflower and hummus appetizer, baked half chicken with vegetables, rice, salad, pita bread and bottomless ice tea brought the tab to $30 including tip. At lunch my wife ordered a vegetable plate which was... More

Staying in Uptown / Carrollton

Neighbourhood Profile
Uptown / Carrollton
Very much their own self sufficient unit within the greater metro area, Uptown and Carrollton tone down the urban edge with a friendly attitude and collegiate feel. Home to Tulane and Loyola Universities, all the students living in the area ensure that Uptown and Carrollton stay youthful, cosmopolitan and vibrantly fun. Two of the liveliest thoroughfares for nightlife and socializing (and yes of course more of the city’s outstandingly good food and live music) are Oak Street and Maple Street. For a truly wild time, the expansive acreage of Audubon Park, with its zoo, golf course, and actual patches of swampy wetlands, means peace and quiet are never too far away.
