Picked up friends from the airport and they suggested dinner at Lilette. Never having eaten here I was game as always. This romantic spot on Magazine would be a perfect place to take a date.. we started with cocktails ( in my case an excellent Tom Collins) and moved on to appetizers, a crudo of Nairagi Marlin ( Hawaiian striped... This is the 2nd time I have dined here...one was a group lunch to celebrate a baptism and yesterday was a nice lunch with friends. This has an authentic Parisian cafe feel to it...the tile floors, wooden sideboards and cheerful lighting belie an anything but traditional, menu which is innovative and delicious. For lunch I had the grilled beets with... More

My wife and I stopped in for a late lunch while shopping on Magazine street. The place is very attractive. The service was excellent. The bread is crusty and tasty. We both had the Italian wedding soup. It was perfect, just like my Italian grandmother used to make. The veal meatballs were delicious. My wife than had the sizzling shrimp... More

Went for lunch with friends. Was disappointed that there were very few creole or cajun food options. We had the ruben sandwich which was not good. The soft shell crab was great. The atmosphere and decor was beautiful, but the food was disappointing.

I've eaten at Lilette before the lunch, but on this trip I went for dinner. I had a really great experience, even though eating solo. The wine, the duck, the sorbet in dessert, basically everything was outstanding start to finish.

Long overdue return did no disappoint. Mother and me shared wonderful bowel of mussels. The ladies shared a salad. Wife dined on black drum while her friend and mom each had the delightful flounder. I always have a sandwich this time soft shell crab on a brioche - best ever. Don't scrimp on the bread. Drink selection is decent too.... More

We had a work dinner here on a Saturday night. The restaurant has a front and back room and outdoor seating. Reservations are highly recommended. The kitchen churns out tasty appetizers, entrees, and desserts that represent creative variations of typical Louisiana cuisine. The quality of the food is excellent, wine list well selected, and service outstanding.

Lilette was excellent! The staff was friendly and the food was very good. Although if you are in a rush this is not the place to go. It is a fine dining experience! Our waitress was attentive and friendly.

A lovely restaurant about 10 minutes from the French Quarter by cab. The staff was knowledgeable, professional and friendly. The food and drinks were excellent. Good wine list. The atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable. Most of the patrons seemed to be native New Orleans. Highly recommended.

Party of nine arrived for dinner. Upon arrival an air of arrogance permeated the restaurant. I must say the food lived up to it's award winning history, however we could not identify one person who looked or acted the part. The waitress was simply arrogant. I couldn't even be empathetic and say the restaurant was busy and perhaps she was... More

Staying in Garden District

Neighbourhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
