This is a great place to experience quality and price friendly food in the tradition of old school New Orleans. Nothing fancy but great value and food. The oysters are to die for.

An old fashioned, working class oyster and seafood joint with an impressive curriculum of celebrity admirers. The line for seating parades in front of friendly oyster shuckers, who provide colorful commentary as you try to control your Pavlovian reflex. We went straight for the raw...More

Diners Drive-ins and Dives recommended this 90 year icon and it was a good tip. Located in the Garden District, it has delicious seafood, reasonably priced. We had oysters on the half-shell, gumbo, fried shrimp and a “whole loaf” fried shrimp sandwich. The whole loaf...More

Except for the fact that there is electricity you are taken to another era of local dining at Casamentos. A funky and fabulous place with original decor and great oysters. The oyster "loaf" is their version of a pó boy made with their own homemade...More

Old school NOLA tradition. Super fresh raw oysters but we didn't care for the baked oysters. Old Italian prejudice against seafood and cheese and this was an example. Would have liked a better selection on wine but in the end this place is a gem.

Head to the Garden District for the full-on New

picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded
