If you have not been to Johnnys you have not had a true Nola Poboy experience. One of the oldest poboy shops in NOLA and in my opinion the best Roast Beef Poboy on the planet. They also have breakfast and literally 100 Poboy to choose from. The hot sausage here is excellent and the bread is true NOLA French... More

This restaurant doesn't pretend. You can get Po'boys or sandwiches. There are a few other choices, but why bother. The surf and turf especially was excellent. The cheese chili fries were great too.

Johnny's Po-Boy is an old school diner in the French Quarter. We enjoyed the 1/2 po-boy and gumbo special enough to come back for breakfast the next day. Breakfast was even better! It was recommended to me by a friend, and I recommend it to you.

Must go to if you visit New Orleans I bought it to go to take on my flight. I ended up waiting until later that evening to eat it. Still hours after purchasing it was so very DELICIOUS. I ordered the roast beef fully dressed. The meat so flavorful and fresh The bread fabulous. I can taste it still as... More

We had just gotten finished with a tour of the Garden District and it was still storming and we needed a place close by to eat lunch. My friend was craving a po-boy and we saw Johnny's. When we arrived, it wasn't very crowded but by the time we got our food it was packed. The food was good and... More

We heard about Johnny's as the local po-boy must have (sorry Mother's!) and we went. Bring cash - and enough of it - to experience all that Johnny's offers. We had the Judge Bosetta po-boy and a bowl of gumbo - delicious. Worth the wait in line. Yum yum yum!!!

Great food and great portions! This was easily one of the top places we ate at while in NOLA. Great prices, cash only. Sandwiches are huge! I tried the muffuletta, New Orleans speciality and I wasn't disappointed. One thing to keep in mind is that they do close at 4:30, making for a good lunch spot.

We had a mixture of plates. Po boy, hamburger steak special and jambalaya. All were really good. The French bread was perfect. We ate in. It is pretty cramped but that is part of the experience. You can get a big tasty meal here for under $10.

After been tipped off by a local tour guide to go to Johnny's, the family and I went for lunch. A great little restaurant with quick and friendly service. Remember its cash only. Between the 4 of us we ordered 3 Po-Boys not knowing how huge they were. Having said that we were able to demolish them as they were... More

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
