If you love cheese, you should make the trip down to the French Market and try this cheese plate. It was SO good. I was given several cheese samples before deciding which three I wanted, and the lady helping us was very friendly and helpful. This was a perfect lunch in a perfect outdoor area. The platter had fruit, nuts,... More

I from NY and Know my Rubin sandwiches which is one of my favorite sandwiches and hard to make as the beef needs about week in brine checking everyday so some time longer to make it perfect and the balance between the rye bread is ratio critical and this guy did it perfectly after we asked for more corn beef... Tried a muffeleta, eat 1/4 there with the other 1/4 to go - that's how big they are!!! Quite expensive but it gives you two meals. Quite testy but found the dressing a bit over the top.

Never thought of putting feta with hummus. Maybe I'm dumb. Great combination. Fresh pita bread. A little olive oil and paprika. Very tasty.

We were told by a tour guide that the best muffuletta's in the French Quarter were at Alberto's Bistro. So when in Rome do as the Romans, in other words try the local fare where the locals recommend. The one thing that set Alberto's above the rest is that they make there own homemade olive tapenade or olive salad which... More

Located in the French Market in the French Quarter which is a prime location to have lunch before you explore the rest of the area. You order it from the stand and then there is seating available under some tents closer to the street where you can enjoy the best muffaletto and maybe a bag of chips* and a "to... More

Muffaletto is a famous sandwich in NOLA that everyone should experience, and this place offers a vegetarian version of it, it was that good, that I went twice to get it! the service was amazing. when i return to NOLA, this is the first place I will go back to, to eat!

Our Culinary and History of French Quarter guide (Free Foot Tours) recommended this spot to us for a muffaletta as the more famous Central Grocery across the street was closed. She also said that Central does not toast their bread while Alberto's lightly toasts the bread which was her preference - boy did she guide us well on this one!!... More

Get the NOLA feeling. located in the hearth of the French Market, a Big and Easy menu with delicious items. We started with a Humus and then a Reuben sandwich and a mouthwatering Muffaletta. Very kind and fast service. Stop by to recharge after walking the French Quarter. Don't miss it!

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
