Best alligator I have ever had. Service was friendly. My entree was just ok. Cashew red fish. Decent atmosphere.

We always end up at Chatres House when visiting the French Quarter. The best Sazarac in the quarter along with classic Cajun cuisine make the his a favorite lychee ID afternoon stop.

Stopped by for dinner and was greatly disappointed. Everything just seemed discombobulated. There were issues with our sodas (heard all about the fountain guy being out several times to fix the machine) and service was very slow. Everything around us just seemed off. We were upstairs and somewhat isolated. Perhaps a table by the bar might have been better. Food... More

We watched the Thanksgiving game, Dallas Cowboys and Washington Redskins, in a fun atmosphere. There is a bar with TV's that you can see from any restaurant table while you eat, drink and people watch the French Quarter. Deserves a visit even for just a quick cocktail.

Popped in for lunch. Good service. Nice Po-Boy with shrimp for me and a tasty Muffuletta for my daughter. Reasonably priced. Very interesting beer + Murphys suggestions. See photo.

Historic setting in the heart of the Quarter. Enjoyed lunch in the courtyard. Probably not the best choice if you are wanting a more romantic setting...the service staff cross through the courtyard to the kitchen. Overall a good experience and the food was good.

When our hotel room was not ready to occupy my wife and I took a stroll to the French Quarter looking for a place to have lunch. Having been born and raised around New Orleans I can tell you the quality of food in the French Quarter tourist district has taken a turn for the worst. Gone are the days... More

Sat on the balcony and listened to an excellent violinist the whole time. Michael was our waiter and he was very attentive and entertaining. Duck empanadas were good, muffuletta was very good and the cashew crusted redfish was outstanding.....not very expensive either.... We will be back!!!

I liked my Pimm's Gin Fizz drink & Sautéed shrimp & Jambalaya however my boyfriend's friend shrimp dish & hush puppies were bad. It tasted like fast food. My friend ordered the grilled chicken salad but it wasn't very fresh. Her strawberry vodka drink tasted like a syrupy snow cone and was too sweet.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
