We enjoyed a pleasant lunch here on the last day of our week in Zell am See. I had the day’s special, strips of veal in chanterelle sauce with fettucini. It was delicious & was accompanied by a glass of local pils. The service was friendly & English was spoken well. The atmosphere was informal & pub-like & most of... More

My dad invited me here to a birthday dinner and it was great. Experimental and original food with a touché of the local cuisine. Now I know why the locals consider it as one of the best restaurants in the area.

The menu is slightly unusual which makes it more interesting. The very friendly waitress recommended a main course which was delicious. Would definitely recommend this restaurant and easy to find just off the Main Street.

A nice restaurant in a classy mountain style with a lot of wood interior. One of the best places to eat in Zell am See.

I can not recommend this place enough! Even though I've been to Zell am See several times this was my first visit to Zum Hirschen. The restaurant makes austrian dishes but many of them with a nice twist. The chef has really put a lot of effort into how the food is presented and composed, and at the same time... More

Good food but not as good as the price tag would let You think. Thereto a bit clumpsy service with forgotten beers, 10 minutes for a cola refill, and not the least - translation help that let us know that we ordered beef, but then kidneys came on the plate.. Would have to do some work with the service, but... More

having read some reviews thought we'd try Hirschen and weren't disappointed. Greeted and recommended that we sit outside due to heat and were grateful for recommendation. Food was excellent - special pepper steak or light bite tuna & scallops, then desserts of orange flan and rhubarb & strawberry gratin. All was exquisite and service from all was good Only downside... We visited this town on a rainy day and wandered around looking for somewhere to eat which wasn't pizza. The six of us came across this hotel with public restaurant which looked very inviting and a member of staff welcomed us outside. We explained we only wanted a beer and a snack but she ushered us in and nothing was... More
