Talked to a local who said this was the place for great barbecue sandwiches! He was right! Great food, interesting atmosphere! We noticed a sign on the door that said this business was up for sale! I hope the new owner doesn't mess things up and the food stays the same! Service was ok...

This place had the best breakfast, and there lunch looked great also. This place is small, so you have to wait sometimes about 20 minutes, but I have to say it was worth it. The service was great also.

Ate at picnic table on the deck overlooking the harbor. Good experience for the local feel. Old diner atmosphere with great food and basic service.

We were recommended to eat here by someone we trusted. It's inside a train car?! Sounds great! The list of positives ended there for us. It was the worst meal we had in AK. Given the recommending party, I am led to believe that we might have caught them on a bad day? We waited 20 minutes outside for a... More

Coming from Florida, I came in contact with someone who lived in Alaska and had just moved to Florida. She recommended the Train Rec restaurant (the W and K were missing). We went for breakfast prior to our excursion. The food was very good, and was inexpensive. Well worth the trip. It is at the edge of the small boat... More

You'll be surprised when you enter this little eatery. The food is basic but good. The staff is friendly and prompt. Well worth a stop.

We ducked in here for a breakfast while our rooms were getting ready! Coffee was hot and the food made to order. Small and cozy train car seating! I recommend the breakfast Burrito!

Food and service were good I got the last booth then the line started it's inside a train car so there is not a lot of room but that helped the atmosphere

Had lunch here and loved it. I had the spicy chicken burrito, my husband and granddaughter each had burgers. Everything was excellent. The server was really attentive and nice, and since we were here at an off-time (3 pm) there was only one other table of folks. The atmosphere is great: tables and kitchen inside an old railcar. Can't wait... More
