We went to Altura for dinner last night. We were unaware that the menu was fixed, as is the price ($135/pp). Any allergies are dealt with without missing a step. The meal is about 18 plates of art that emerge from the kitchen onto the...More

Forget the cost, just embrace this extraordinary dining experience. Happy. Hip. Friendly. Fabulous. If you do want to rein in the final bill, consider ordering just a bottle of wine instead of the wine pairings.

I would highly recommend this restaurant for a special treat. The menu is a tasting menu and has plenty of small bites and dishes. We were extremely full and all the dishes tasted very good. I opted for the Wagyu instead of the duck breast,...More

Altura Restaurant is wonderful and worth every penny. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The chef was able to accommodate our food allergies without impacting the experience. My table ordered the wine tasting menus (2 classic and 1modern) to go with the tasting menu. Every...More

This was much more than just a dinner, this was an experience, an incredible experience. This culinary jewel sits comfortably at odds with it's colorful neighbors on Capital Hill. The service was perfect, the multi-course fixed-price dinner was beautifully plated and so delicious!! I have...More

Just went again for my birthday, and left with the kind of satisfaction you can only get when all of your senses have been massaged. 1) I am gluten free and they offered the same experience as my non-gluten free friend, I did not feel...More

If you want it romantic, choose a table so you can face each other. If you want to watch the action, sit at the bar. Either way, you can't make a mistake. Although, some of the tables are small and placed quite close to... More

Altura restaurant applies the focus of ingredient-driven Italian cooking to the natural bounty of the Pacific Northwest. Our chefs work tirelessly each day to highlight the most exciting seasonal products. Chef Nathan Lockwood's tasting menu is at the heart of the Altura approach to dining. With a focus on wild foraged products, pristine Puget Sound seafood and locally raised heirloom meats and vegetables, our tasting menu exemplifies who we are. Expect to spend between two and three hours enjoying ten to fifteen courses of our most inspired dishes. For a less structured approach, diners are welcome to design their own experience by choosing three or more courses from our traditional menu. Our team of Sommeliers is always on hand to design a unique flight of paired wines or help you find the perfect bottle to highlight your experience. We invite you to join us on Capitol Hill to celebrate seasonal cuisine, exceptional wine and gracious service.
