Lucky for my wife and I my son graduated from Seattle Pacific University and chose to live in Fremont District of Seattle. He turned us on this this Mexican Restaurant restaurant a few years ago and we insist we return to enjoy a wonderful meal when we visit. This is not a formal restaurant so if you don't want to... Come here every time we come down to Seattle (once a season maybe). I've had multiple of their dishes but the standouts are either the pozole soup with fixings or the chile rellano. Great authentic Mexican food with clean flavours and fresh ingredients. Service is wonderful as well, quick and attentive even during the busiest of dinner rushes. Their salsa... More

This is an unexpectedly delicious restaurant with great flavors. You can't go wrong but you should definitely have the mole, as the mole plate or as enchiladas de mole. The food, music and ambiance is all authentic. Great for a family dinner, group of friends, or fun date.

Rustic and authentic restaurant on Ballard. Pork Mole was delicious. Busy busy noisy probably for good reason. Getting there at 5.00 pm was a smart move.

I particularly chose to try out Carta De Oaxaca because of the local's comments. On my 2nd trip, after doing all the touristy stuff on the first trip to the great city of Seattle, my goal was to find stuff the locals like. I love Ballard and was pleasantly surprised this restaurant is located there. I was even more so pleased... More

Pardon the pun in the title, but it seemed to fit. I'd eaten at La Carta with my wife once before, many years ago, and had good memories of it, so when we found ourselves back in downtown Ballard for my high school reunion, and a group of us stepped out to get some dinner, it was a no brainer... This place served us the best Mexican food we have had in months. Having lived in Central California for 55 years, when it comes to good Mexican food, it has been quite a shock to my culinary senses to be in Minnesota for the past four years. Who would have thought I could find this in the Scandanavian neighborhood of... More

Very good local gem in Ballard with authentic Mexican food! Everything we had was delicious and we will definitely be back. Strong margaritas, great service and a patio on Ballard Ave capped off a very good evening. For those that have high standards on Mexican food, this place will actually meet your expectations. Tip: Try the buffet of many salsas!

I've been several times and have enjoyed each visit. On my most recent visit I had the enchiladas, they were good. You may have to wait awhile if you go on the weekend and the place can get very loud but don't let this keep you from going

Totally love this place. Very authentic with a buffet of salsas (I love spicy but their spiciest is not to be tried). Great time. Service a little slow but they were busy and we asked them to shut the door and they did gladly. Accommodated the two little ones.
