I just moved back to Seattle after ten years in Tucson. I was spoiled there. I was beginning to go through withdrawals. La Carta is wonderful! Prices are good. Mole is rich and authentic. Salsas are varied and picante enough for even the most calloused taste buds. Tortillas are handmade. They have Posole! The staff is wonderful. This place will... More

Delicious authentic Mexican dishes. The portions are small, so don't expect the cheese-covered platters served in most Mexican restaurants. The place was packed, so we put our name on the list and walked next door for a beer. It was worth the 20 minute wait. We sat outside by the sidewalk on a relatively warm evening. The chips were warm... More

There are tons of neat choices on the menu, small to medium portions around $10/each, so I think the 2 of us ordered 3 or 4 things for lunch and were satisfied. I wish this place was in the neighborhood where I live, I would eat there all the time.

This place is great for lunch or for dinner. It has an open kitchen setting and brick walls covered with black and white pictures of interesting portraits. The food is fresh and very tasty. The atmosphere is lively and hip. Not a place for a romantic date but a great place for eating delicious food, drinking some beer and hanging... More

Fabulous regional Oaxacan food! The freshly made chips, variety of salsas, and incredible mole dishes scream out for attention in a city that is practically devoid of decent Mexican (sorry, I'm a former Texan, so I have strong sentiments). The memorable eats, friendly service, good drinks, and reasonable pricing make this place worth the inevitable search for parking or occasional... More

Recently we enjoyed a lunch on their tiny patio. I had the pork mole which is the real "comida autentica" as we enjoyed mole in Oaxaca several years ago. My girlfriend had chicken tacos which were very tasty and had some kick. The inside was humming with diners and their big open air prep area was full of wonderful smells.... More

Mexican food is truly one of my favourites and I always seek out good Mexican restaurant whenever I travel through the US or Mexico. In my humble opinion this wasn't a great one, merely average. Two out of four entrees were okay, while the other two were very mediocre. Portions were small by Mexican restaurant standards and I was quite... More

We went here last week and it was delicious!! We had about an hour wait, but there's plenty of pubs in the neighbourhood so we just grabbed a drink while we waited. We ordered halibut tacos and pork mole, and both were incredible!!! Definitely the best fish tacos I've had on our road trip up from San Fran so that's... More

This restaurant was so delicious that I'm craving it now as I write this review. We ordered the Molotes, Chile Rellenos, and Tamales de Moles' Negro. My Peruvian friend commented how the food was so authentic and delicious too. Service was excellent and atmosphere is great. I can't wait to go here again!
