With Anthony's Shilshole closed, Chinook's is their closest substitute. Three of us arrived just before 5 pm on a Saturday and were seated immediately at a window viewing the famous fishing fleet. Super Server Joe, 26 years here, kept the fresh warm focaccia bread coming before and during our meal. Our fare of Kalbi Chicken, Mahi Mahi Tacos and Rock... More

After a Sunday morning hike at Discovery Park, my wife and I stopped at Chinook's for lunch. It turns out that this restaurant serves breakfast from 8 am to 1:30 pm, so we weren't able to order any lunch (although, they do have a "Chinook's Lite" cafe just next door that did serve fish tacos and fish-n-chips). We decided to... More

A group of business friends were in town from another country and wanted to enjoy a seafood dinner. We were in Ballard and a local suggested Chinooks which I had not been to. After a wait of 10 minutes, at which time we noticed several open tables to meet our group size, we were finally seated. Once seated in felt... More

The,people are very attentive also. Accoustics aren't great but the food and view more than compensate.

We visited here for dinner in conjunction with a meeting in town and had a party of about 18 and few restaurants would take a reservation for that large a party. Upon arrival the place was packed on an early Saturday evening and my expectations were moderate for the place. We were seated in a nice room overlooking the harbor... More

My husband ate here on 5/2/17 and ordered the fish tacos, he said they were good and brought some back for me and when I unwrapped it to see all that was inside I was shocked to see maybe a 3 inch piece of fish and then to make it look like a lot in the burrito shell is full... More

Have been eating here for years, you cannot beat this place for quality seafood. I am in the fish business and know my freshness, I have never had anything that wasn't perfectly cooked or had any off flavors due to handling or storage which is a testament as to why they have been here for years. My favorite lunch is... More

Have been going to Chinooks 25+ years, and vibe and food has not changed. Fresh local seafood cooked simply (not high-end gourmet), in a casual airy bright large restaurant with excellent service - at a great hidden location (away from tourist spots). It is very popular with locals. Great for casual, groups, family groups ranging from elderly to kids, dates... More
