A baguette that crackles when you squeeze it, while is super market normal in Italy, seems impossibile in the States. But not at Bakery Nouveau. And it tastes like bread!!

My test for a French bakery are the Croissants. What I tested could pass an American bakery but not one aiming to serve French baked goods. Taste was an almost, not fluffy or crisp enough. They used to be much better in the past...

Our family shared several different pastries, a breakfast kische, and ended with a couple delectable chocolate treats and took home a few macaroons for later. A "don't miss" stop when in Seattle. Everything is homemade and super fresh. We ended up visiting the bakery twice during our stay.

Everything here is wonderful. I am prejudiced toward the one in West Seattle -- I like the neighborhood and frequent that one more often, plus I think they have a larger selection but I could be mistaken. Either way, true french bakery at its finest! Pear tarts, lemon tarts, sandwiches, quiche, macaroons, you name it, it's simply wonderful. But those... More

Seriously. Everything here is off the charts. Even their simple slices of pizza, which are nothing like a typical slice, are incredible. The croissants are melt-in-your mouth great. The only drawback is that it's so good it's always crowded, and they're not exactly swift. But it's worth the wait - I certainly didn't dock a star, like I would for... More

If you want the best pastries in West Seattle -- or in Seattle, for that matter -- go to Bakery Nouveau. Breakfast pastries or mid-day sandwiches on great bread, they cannot be beat. Not much seating, but the food is superb.

This is THE bakery. Their almond croissants are superb, best in the city. Only competition is the blackberry croissant made by Standard Bakery. Another amazing thing at Bakery Nouveau is the chocolate cake--NO OTHER BIRTHDAY CAKE WILL DO. THIS ONE IS IT! And the counter staff on Capitol Hill among the NICEST and LOVELIEST people in any busy bakery in... More

I love this bakery. They use high quality ingredients and are very skilled in the preparation of their baked goods. They offer pizza slices and other light lunch treats as well as wonderful sweet treats. The place has been found out and it gets busy but it's worth waiting your turn.

I always pick up the twice baked almond croissants when I host book group. They have come to expect and look forward to them. Delicious!!
